Kids Tree Lighting Ceremony

Delightful family moments captured the joy and merriment of the festive season at The Peninsula Beijing. Last December, memorable dining experiences were combined with a weekend programme of seasonally inspired activities - such as the Tree Lighting event for children. The hotel lobby was decorated with giant nutcrackers, glittering ornaments and an illuminated Christmas tree, and a whimsical winter village in The Lobby warmed the hearts of guests.

Every Saturday and Sunday, families shared a Peninsula Festive Afternoon Tea or a sumptuous Weekend Brunch at The Lobby. As a family treat, parents and children were invited to join the Christmas Tree Lighting moment at The Lobby every weekend at 5pm during December. One lucky child was chosen by Santa Claus to help switch on the colourful illuminations decorating the Christmas Tree and reflected in glittering ornaments throughout The Lobby.

In addition to enjoying traditional delicacies, children showcase their creativities and made new friends with curated classes inspired by Christmas and New Year customs from around the world. Offered across four weekends in December, the Festive Kids’ Activities were designed to stimulate children’s imaginations while they learned about the cherished cultural traditions that have made this time of year so special.
