The Peninsula Beijing, the premier all-suite hotel in the Chinese capital, commences its landmark 30th anniversary year in April 2019 by inviting guests born in 1989, the hotel’s opening year, to celebrate their 30th birthdays together through a range of promotions.
With its prime location and exceptional service, The Peninsula Beijing has become a pivotal landmark in the Wangfujing area of Beijing since opening its door in 1989. Following a major renovation that was completed in 2017, the award-winning hotel, which combines timeless Chinese artistry and craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, sets new standards in design, luxury and comfort.
Party like its 1989
Staying in ultimate style has been a hallmark of The Peninsula Beijing for three decades, and guests born in 1989 – the year the hotel opened as China’s first luxury hotel – can relax and unwind in a spacious Grand Premier Suite (or any suite category above) while benefiting from a 30% discount. Thirty-year old guests can also enjoy a 30% saving on à la carte dining and birthday banquet all year long at JING and Huang Ting, the hotel’s celebrated restaurants, and banquet spaces.
An auspicious year for dream weddings
Throughout its 30-year history, The Peninsula Beijing’s suite of spectacular venues has made it the capital’s most prestigious destination for dream weddings and banquets. During 2019, happy couples can enjoy a romance-filled wedding package, including food tasting, guest banquet, a hand-crafted wedding cake, a honeymoon suite stay, couples’ spa treatments and round-trip limousine transfers at a special 30th anniversary rate of RMB10,888, which represents a 30% discount on the standard price.
Birthday parties at Jing and The Lobby
Jing, the hotel’s contemporary French restaurant, is a popular choice for birthday parties and the Birthday Celebrations offer makes it an even more alluring destination. For a minimum reservation of four diners, the birthday guest can enjoy French Chef de Cuisine Julien Cadiou’s curated three-course menu courtesy of the hotel, in addition to a complimentary birthday cake. The Lobby restaurant is also pleased to offer a Birthday Celebration package that enables four to dine for the price of three. The three-course modern European menu is completed with the birthday guest blowing out the candles on a chocolate and vanilla Saint Honoré birthday cake served at the table.
Seasonal spa celebrations
An indulgent wellness experience makes an appealing gift for a loved one or friend. The Birthday Celebrations package at The Peninsula Spa allows guests to choose three thirty-minute treatments, such as a salt and oil body scrub, a hot-stone back massage and an express facial, in order to create their personalised spa journey. Combined with a whirlpool bath using mineral sea salts and a steam shower, this special Birthday Celebration ensures that guests leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
30 dining experiences to mark 30 years
Exceptional cuisine and fine wines are integral elements of any birthday commemoration. A curated menu of themed dining experiences will be unveiled throughout 2019 at The Peninsula Beijing’s three award-winning restaurants, as well as for a spectacular end-of-year 30th Anniversary Gala Party. Forthcoming festive highlights to watch out for include a special promotion on 30 international wines and the new late-night dining menu at Jing, as well as an interactive WeChat promotion for Brunch and Afternoon Tea guests at The Lobby. Themed discounts will be offered on artisanal chocolates and macarons at The Peninsula Boutique and pre-orders of homemade Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncakes, and an invigorating new lifestyle and wellness programme will enable guests to feel healthy, fit and fabulous for summer.
Golden logo inspired by Chinese culture
A bespoke 30th anniversary logo, cast in golden ink with sweeping Chinese calligraphy brush strokes, has been created to mark the occasion. The design of the logo draws its inspiration from the building’s traditional pagoda roof and references the abstract Chinese mosaic in the guest bathrooms, which depicts the movements of a goldfish and alludes to the hotel’s address on the historic Goldfish Lane in Beijing.
