The Peninsula Tokyo Appoints Mark Choon as General Manager

The Peninsula Tokyo announced the appointment of Mr. Mark Choon as General Manager, effective 29 October 2019.

 

Formerly General Manager of The Peninsula Manila, Mr. Choon returns to Tokyo where he previously held the position of Hotel Manager from 2014 to 2015. His commitment to The Peninsula Hotels, however, extends back to 2001, when he first joined The Peninsula Chicago as Night Manager during the hotel’s pre-opening period. Following a number of management positions within the Front Office and Rooms Division, he was appointed Resident Manager of The Peninsula Chicago in January 2008. Subsequently, Mr. Choon transferred to The Peninsula Bangkok in 2010 as Hotel Manager and then relocated to The Peninsula Tokyo in 2014 as Hotel Manager.

 

Mr. Choon studied communications at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a Certificate in the Essentials of Hospitality Management from Cornell University. He speaks fluent Korean in addition to his native English, and is married with a son and daughter. His interests include traveling, cooking, mountain biking, and music.
