Michelin-Starred Spring Moon Celebrates Dragon Boat Festival With A Collection Of Four Premium Dumplings

A thrilling spectacle with origins stretching back more than 2,000 years, Hong Kong’s annual Dragon Boat Festival holds a particularly special place in Chinese culture. To celebrate, The Peninsula Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, Spring Moon, has created a series of special rice dumplings, available in four indulgent flavours.
The Premium Glutinous Rice Dumplings (priced at HK$ 648 each) bursting with flavour, these delectable treats are simmered in a broth using a secret recipe, while the glutinous rice is pre-seasoned with abalone sauce. Unlike the traditional cooking method, this gives the dumplings a fuller flavour with a rounded, savoury finish to last. In addition to 30-head dried abalone from the Middle East and pieces of diced fresh abalone, the Premium Glutinous Rice Dumplings also feature an array of luxury ingredients. While the Deluxe Glutinous Rice Dumplings (HK$ 348 each) are also available for selection.
Presented in pairs are the Lotus Seed Paste Glutinous Rice Dumplings and the Red Date Paste and Lychee Glutinous Rice Dumplings (HK$ 288 per box, featuring one of each flavour). The lychee variation, inspired by the ancient recipe of lychee red date soup, is a refreshing take on a traditional delicacy offering an elegant floral aroma and graceful hint of sweetness.
All of the above premium dumplings are available for the first time on Spring Moon’s e-shop at https://eshopphk.peninsula.com/ for order. Wrapped in boxes with timeless designs encapsulating The Peninsula’s storied history, the boxes of rice dumplings make perfect gifts as well as items with which to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.
Orders will be taken from now until 14 June 2021, with the Rice Dumplings vouchers and boxed Rice Dumplings ready for collection from 3 May to 14 June and 1 to 14 June 2021 at Spring Moon respectively. Guests purchasing 10 to 49 dumplings are entitled to a 10% discount, while a 15% discount is applied to orders of 50 or more.
