The Peninsula Chicago is in the pink this October, as the hotel marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a host of indulgent offerings to raise funds for Chicago-based charity, A Silver Lining Foundation. Whether you’re a staying guest or drop-in visitor, you can enjoy these exclusive treats and make a difference.
Throughout the month, The Lobby is hosting The Art of Pink Afternoon Tea, a rose-tinted take on the hotel’s signature spread featuring pink-hued savoury and sweet delicacies, while The Bar is mixing a special Pretty in Pink cocktail. At Pierrot Gourmet, you can pick up divine Rose Lychee Macarons (they make perfect edible souvenirs), and The Peninsula Spa has a couple of exclusive treatments, including Pedi-for-a-Cure for instant trotter relief, and the Think Pink Massage, a relaxing 90-minute full-body ritual, which includes a hydrating pink mud mask applied to the feet, hands, and scalp for intense moisturising. Swoon…
Come dusk, the hotel will be basked in a rosy glow as the main entrance and Peninsula signage are illuminated pink. Flower arrangements follow the same blushing theme, and a Remembrance Tree invites guests to donate $5 by writing dedications to breast cancer survivors and loved ones. Over at the gift shop, you can buy pink ribbons, tote bags, pins and candles, with a portion of all proceeds contributing to the cause.
Whether you’re wining n’ dining, spa-ing or indulging that retail itch, there are a multitude of ways to enter the spirit of this fabulous October-only initiative. And when you do, don’t forget to share your moments using the #PeninPink hashtag.
