Founded 120 years ago, Imahan has a well-established reputation for high-quality, beautifully seasoned sukiyaki and shabu-shabu using its own specially procured wagyu (beef from specially bred Japanese cattle); branches are found in Ginza, Yurakucho and several other locations. Established in 1955, Zakuro Ginza is a shabu-shabu and sukiyaki restaurant that prides itself on its fine-quality ingredients. Wagyu (beef from specially bred Japanese cattle) in a variety of grades is served, together with Zakuro’s own homemade sesame and ponzu sauces. This is a restaurant of style and tradition, right down to the hand-crafted copper pots which simmer the food over a charcoal heat. Another branch is in Nihonbashi.

The chef prides himself in gathering the best quality Hidagyu beef you can find in the market. All the cows they receive are graded A5 for top quality and yet their prices are known to be the most reasonable for such a high grade. The company has existed for over 50 years since its roots in the Gifu Prefecture, thus you are not just getting an amazing meal with your visit, but you may also boast that you have had a “taste of history”. The best thing about this place is that they are also very popular for yakiniku style dining, should you prefer that as well.
