TAKIYA SHANGHAI is the first international outpost of Japan’s legendary tempura restaurant, TAKIYA. Originally founded in Tokyo in 2014 by Chef Tatsuki Kasamoto, TAKIYA has since become one of the city’s most highly acclaimed dining destinations, winning numerous Tabelog Gold Awards. It has also become one of the hardest-to-book restaurants in Japan, accepting reservations only from repeat guests, with a long-standing priority system for members and regular patrons.
At TAKIYA SHANGHAI, the exquisite tempura dishes conceived by Chef Kasamoto are impeccably crafted by his personally trained protégé, Chef Eita Kazami. Along with the cuisine, the Shanghai restaurant echoes the refined elegance and ambience of its Tokyo flagship.
