The Peninsula Paris
Festive traditions, special indulgences, and opportunities to create lasting holiday memories
Festive-season celebrations offer some of our most cherished opportunities to share joy and togetherness. For nearly a century, The Peninsula Hotels’ timeless elegance and unparalleled service have helped guests to make the most of this enchanting season. This year, after the challenges we have all experienced, creating treasured memories together is more meaningful than ever – and The Peninsula Paris, along with Peninsula properties around the world, invites guests to enjoy an array of time-honoured experiences, activities, and menus that spark delight.
Stories From the Tree
As it has every year since 2018, The Peninsula Paris will adorn its enormous, beautifully decorated lobby Christmas tree with characters from its festive-season story collection, "Stories from the Tree." This year, for the fourth and final adventure in the series, the Reindeer character takes centre stage through a children's tale that explores Christmas traditions around the world. The story, The Reindeer’s Travels, will be available digitally on the peninsula.com website, along with those from the past three years: The Nutcracker’s Adventure, The Gingerbread Man’s Tale, and The Robin’s Journey. For the first time, these festive tales will also be offered in a finely crafted, boxed print story collection – with a portion of book sales donated to a local charitable foundation. The Peninsula Paris will also invite guests and their families to enjoy a live reading of Stories from the Tree: The Reindeer’s Travels.
Opportunities for Giving
To honour the spirit of generosity that accompanies the holidays, The Peninsula Paris will continue its tradition of contributing to Les Apprentis d’Auteuil, a local charitable organisation that supports youth empowerment. Along with a portion of proceeds from the “Stories from the Tree” box set,
The Peninsula Paris will donate five euros from each sale of a pin featuring the Reindeer character as well as five additional euros from each sale of a Festive Afternoon Tea.
Exquisite Festive-Season Desserts and Delicacies
Gourmet, Forest-Inspired Yule Log
Co-conceived by The Peninsula Paris’s Pastry Sous-Chef, Anne Coruble, and Executive Chef David Bizet, this year’s festive Yule log evokes sensory memories associated with woodlands. Its organic shape recalls the roots and branches of forest trees, as well as crackling embers in a fireplace. The log’s flavours, meanwhile, conjure the olfactory experience of wandering through an apple orchard: its crunchy chocolate shell contains layers of vanilla ganache infused with grilled apple leaf, a creamy ganache made with applewood-smoked Madagascan chocolate, and smooth apple-infused caramel.
Decadent Chocolate King Cake
To further sweeten the holiday season, The culinary team at The Peninsula Paris has created a supremely indulgent, all-chocolate traditional Galette des Rois (“King Cake”) – which is sure to delight both adults and children. The delectable dessert comprises flaky, cocoa-flavoured puff pastry; a rich almond-chocolate cream made with the finest Indonesian dark chocolate; and a chocolate ganache infused with smoked salt.
Sweets and Savouries at the Christmas Chalets
The Peninsula Paris’s two beloved Christmas chalets will return to the Terrasse Kléber, where visitors can enjoy delicious savoury and sweet creations throughout the month of December. This year’s offerings will include French toast with Comté cheese, truffle-and-Wagyu beef waffle, lobster and citrus baba, praline-filled brioche, and chestnut-blackcurrant pancakes. Festive holiday drinks – like pepper-spiked hot chocolate and warm white wine mulled with Christmas spices – will also be served.
Special Holiday Restaurant Menus
Each restaurant at The Peninsula Paris will offer sumptuous festive dinners on both 24 and 31 December, accompanied by holiday-themed music. Lavish brunches will also be available on 25 and 26 December 2021 and 1 and 2 January 2022.
The Peninsula Paris invites guests to visit peninsula.com/paris, or call +33 (0)1 58 12 28 88, to plan a magical holiday experience in the City of Light.
