The Peninsula Paris
Splendid new menus, culinary events, and special stay offers treat guests to the pleasures of the season
To celebrate the arrival of summer, an especially enchanting time in the City of Light, The Peninsula Paris will debut a line-up of splendid new dining and stay experiences. With alfresco meals that make the most of sunny days, menus that spotlight fresh-harvested ingredients, festive events that mark iconic summer holidays, and special staycation packages, the heritage hotel invites guests and visitors to savour the pleasures of the season.
Breakfast and Evening Tapas among the Roses at Le Rooftop
A profusion of blooming heritage rose bushes, as well as creative cocktails and panoramic views over Paris, have long made the hotel’s Le Rooftop restaurant a favourite venue for evening rendezvous. This year, however, the sixth-floor restaurant will for the first time serve Continental breakfast for sun-loving morning visitors. Beginning Tuesday 7 June (weather permitting), Le Rooftop will serve fresh bakery items, including croissants and pains au chocolat, along with hot and cold drinks, from 8 to 11 am daily (56€ per person).
The bar will continue to serve drinks and snacks from noon to 5pm, while in the evenings between 6 and 10 pm, chefs David Bizet and Antoine Guichard offer their new summer menu of small-plate dishes. These preparations, meant to be shared, include tempura vegetables with green-curry yoghurt and fresh coriander; courgette carpaccio with fiddleheads, Ume plum, and honey from the hotel's own beehives; and Pugliese burrata with basil oil, smoked piquillo and black garlic. Dessert choices like Madagascan vanilla flan, cocktails featuring aromatic herbs and edible flowers from the rooftop garden, and exceptional rosé wines from Château d'Esclans will also be available.
Reservations not required. Hours until June 7: 4 pm to 12:30 am Sunday to Wednesday; 4 pm to 1:30 am Thursday to Saturday.
Epicurean Summer Delights at L'Oiseau Blanc
At The Peninsula Paris’s two-Michelin-starred French gastronomy restaurant, L'Oiseau Blanc, Chef David Bizet and Pastry Chef Anne Coruble will take summer diners on an exquisite new culinary journey. Tantalising summer dishes – including liquorice-glazed quail, and sea bass escabeche with fermented seaweed and Imperial caviar – will be served for lunch and dinner in the lofty aviation-themed dining room. Inventive desserts, including a “rosacée des bois” made with candied strawberry, and a flight of Tahitian vanilla preparations with caramelised tobacco leaf, provide a sweet finish.
Lunch served from noon to 2 pm; dinner served from 7 – 10 pm.
Bastille Day Menus and Festivities
On 14 July, The Peninsula Paris will commemorate Bastille Day with special evening offerings at both Le Rooftop and L'Oiseau Blanc. Both venues, with their sweeping views over the Eiffel Tower and Paris rooftops, are perfectly situated for taking in the city’s traditional holiday fireworks display.
At Le Rooftop, couples can mark the occasion with signature tapas-style dishes accompanied by a bottle of Champagne (€640 for two) and DJ-spun music starting at 9 pm.
At L'Oiseau Blanc, a sumptuous "Bastille Menu” will be served beginning at 7 pm, featuring dishes like blue lobster with smoked aubergine in green curry, and grass-fed Finistère beef with spiny cucumber ravioli and fresh watermelon. Decadent desserts include a cocoa pod of rich Madagascan chocolate infused with Kampot pepper.
Priced at 650€ per person; reservations and advance payment required. Inquiries can be made by phone at +33 (0)1 58 12 67 31 or email at oiseaublancppr@peninsula.com.
