The Peninsula Manila Invites Guests to Celebrate the Holidays with Festive Events and Experiences

To fully embrace the holiday spirit of caring and connection, guests can also take part in The Peninsula Hotels’ long-standing corporate responsibility and sustainability initiative to support youth in need during this season of giving.

Celebrating Togetherness
In these challenging times, celebrating the holidays with friends and family feels especially meaningful. The Peninsula Manila’s enchanting festive traditions enable guests to truly savor the season and create precious memories together. This year’s seasonal experiences include sumptuous holiday brunches, delectable festive menus, celebratory cocktails, The Peninsula Hotels’ holiday storybook for children, and signature festive hampers. All of these are offered in an environment that encourages guests to relax and reconnect for the holidays, safely and joyfully.

Stories from the Tree
In keeping with tradition, The Peninsula Manila and its sister hotels around the world will illuminate a giant, splendidly decorated Christmas tree in their grand lobby. This dazzling display will be the focal point for “Stories from the Tree,” a Peninsula tradition since 2018. Six colorful characters, including the Nutcracker, Gingerbread Man, Robin and Reindeer will adorn Christmas trees, as well as the festive decorations.

Digital Storybook
Each year, a different “Stories from the Tree” character is highlighted with a specially written children’s story. This year, the protagonist of the story, The Robin’s Journey, is the red-breasted Robin, who travels around the world to experience a variety of holiday adventures and highlights the spirit of kindness and giving. The story will also be available as a complimentary e-book download on peninsula.com starting in November – along with previous years’ stories, The Gingerbread Man’s Tale and The Nutcracker’s Adventure.

A Season of Giving
As well as a time for celebration with loved ones, the holidays are a time of sharing and generosity. In that spirit, The Peninsula Hotels is continuing its custom of reaching out to those who are less fortunate. At The Peninsula Manila, a “Stories from the Tree” Festive Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed at The Lobby throughout the festive season for P 875 (inclusive of taxes), with P 125 to be donated to Virlanie Foundation, a private, non-profit organization reaching out to marginalized children and their families in the Philippines. A Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea is also available for P 1,490 (with one flute of Champagne).

Festive Tree Lighting
The festive spirit arrives on October 27 when children from the Make-A-Wish® Foundation Philippines light up The Lobby’s 45-foot-tall Christmas tree, and an orchestra strikes up their instruments to play holiday music. The resulting scene, which resembles a holiday greeting card brought to life, beautifully heralds the start of this special season.

Gingerbread Store
Starting November 27, guests may make holiday dining reservations, order Christmas hampers, at The Lobby’s gingerbread-clad Festive Desk.

Pen Bear Santa at The Upper Lobby
It can be a challenge finding Santa – but not at The Peninsula Manila, where Pen Bear Santa makes regular appearances. He can be found waving from The Upper Lobby every Friday evening, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. 

Santa's Workshop
Children can join an immersive online live Peninsula Academy Gingerbread Decorating Class from home, with Peninsula pastry chefs teaching them in easy-follow-steps how to create a beautifully detailed gingerbread house with help from their parents. The class comes with a kit containing a pre-baked gingerbread house and all other edible décor and equipment needed to put together an adorable festive masterpiece. The kit is available for purchase at The Peninsula Boutique.
