Two Nights of Dazzling Opera and Sumptous Dining to Delight Guests at The Peninsula Hong Kong

Following the smashing success of its late-May debut, The Peninsula Hong Kong will host two additional performances of the spectacular opera Les Amours de Carmen Wong, accompanied by exquisite fine dining at its award-winning restaurants. Staged in partnership with of the French May Arts Festival – an annual cross-cultural celebration highlighting the artistic alliance between Hong Kong and France – the productions will take place at the hotel in July and September 2025.
The opera presents a stunning interpretation of French composer George Bizet's legendary opera, Carmen. In Les Amours de Carmen Wong, the tragic story of the eponymous femme fatale is adapted to the setting of 1960s and ‘70s Hong Kong. The production features a cast of exceptional vocalists, including tenor Chen Yong, mezzo-soprano Ashley Chui, soprano Etta Fung and baritone Isaac Droscha.
Two Celebrations of Culture and Cuisine
The dinner performance will take place on Monday, 21 July 2025, at The Peninsula Hong Kong’s venerable Michelin-starred French fine-dining establishment, Gaddi’s. Along with the captivating opera, guests will enjoy an epicurean four-course menu designed by Chef de Cuisine Anne-Sophie Nicolas, which draws on the esteemed traditions of French gastronomy. The offerings will include Traditional Beef Tartare with Baerii Caviar, Gherkins, Capers and Quail Eggs, and a choice of mains including Wild Sea Bass with Beluga Caviar, Vegetable Medley and Bouillabaisse Sauce, or Miéral Pigeon with Green Peas à la Française, Girolle Mushrooms, Pearl Onions and Rocket, along with an appetiser and dessert. Diners may opt to pair their meal with fine wines, as recommended by Chef Sommelier Marc Le Gallic.
On Saturday, 20 September 2025, another performance will be staged at Felix, The Peninsula Hong Kong’s sleek, top-floor restaurant with interiors by visionary French designer Philippe Starck and dazzling views over Victoria Harbour. A splendid four-course menu crafted by Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire will accompany the entertainment, and will include French Duck Foie Gras Terrine with Strawberries, Basil, and Brioche Feuille; French Baerii Caviar with Ricotta-Spinach Ravioli and Warm Lemon Mayonnaise; and Felix Opera – a delightful dessert made with Coffee Cream, Chocolate Ganache and Cardamom Ice Cream – along with an appetiser and choice of main course.
Each Les Amours de Carmen Wong experience is priced at HK$ 4,800* per person (subject to 10% service charge) and are available by reservation only. Guests who reserve seats for both can enjoy a 10% discount. For reservations and enquiries, please contact the restaurants:

Founded in 1993, the French May Arts Festival is one of the largest cultural celebrations in Asia. Paying tribute to the ongoing artistic dialogue between Hong Kong and France with more than 150 events, it has become a highlight of Hong Kong’s cultural calendar, drawing approximately one million visitors annually.
