On 14 August 2023, The Peninsula Hong Kong invites fine dining and music enthusiasts to enjoy a special evening with members of the highly acclaimed Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO). A 45-minute recital will be performed by the AYO at the hotel’s sleek modern dining destination, Felix, to be followed by a sumptuous five-course set dinner curated by Felix’s Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire.
The performance, which will begin at 7:00 pm, will be led by French-Swiss Principal Conductor Joseph Bastian. It will also feature German-born Soprano Lydia Teuscher, who has performed on major stages throughout the world and collaborated with such esteemed conductors as René Jacobs, Jonathan Cohen, Emmanuelle Haïm, Sir Roger Norrington, Helmuth Rilling, and Markus Stenz.
The musically diverse programme will include a lively music medley by Arne Running’s Quodlibet; Zequinha de Abreu's lively “Tico-Tico no Fubá”; Villa-Lobos' evocative Bachianas Brasileiras No.5; Steve Reich's rhythmic masterpiece “Clapping Music”; Ennio Morricone's haunting “Gabriel's Oboe”; and Hoagy Carmichael's timeless classic “Stardust.”
Following the performance, the Felix culinary team will serve up a gastronomic symphony in the form of a “five-act” feast for the senses, highlights of which include Boston lobster salad with heirloom tomatoes and ajo blanco; Australian winter black truffles with Hokkaido scallop bread, sea urchin, and cauliflower; Poached Japanese flounder with miso eggplant and coriander sauce; Grilled A4 Kagoshima tenderloin with girolles, apricot, and thyme-infused gravy; and Poached peach with strawberry coulis and vanilla ice cream. The menu also includes a choice of a glass of Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut, NV, or Saicho jasmine sparkling cold-brewed tea.
“One Enchanted Evening at Felix” is priced at HK$ 1,888* per person. For enquiries or reservations, please contact Felix at +852 2696 6778 or email at felixphk@peninsula.com.
