The latest addition to The Peninsula Academy, the “Tale of A City: Bespoke Circus Tram Academy” offers visitors the chance to explore Hong Kong from the plush comfort of a unique, custom-designed tram created by local start-up Circus, in association with Hong Kong Tramways.

Born through a desire to introduce guests to the local heritage of the city, Peninsula Academies offer one-of-a-kind experiences that take guests into the heart of Hong Kong and connect them with artisans and specialists from a variety of fields. An advocate of cultural, urban and social innovation, Circus is an ideal partner for The Peninsula Hong Kong’s latest Academy offering.

Brought to life by a team of designers, architects, curators and crafters, the Circus Tram is a mobile members’ club featuring three distinct salons for guests to enjoy. These include The Freudians, an intimate compartment with an open-air balcony that offers passengers unobstructed views of the cityscape as well as a guided architectural tour by a local expert; Darwin’s Garden, a bright and airy room adorned with lush greenery and lively musical entertainment; and Chatham House, a dramatic downstairs carriage inspired by old-fashioned gentlemen’s clubs with a range of cultural activities from fortune-telling to magic performance by local talents to enrich your enchanted journey.

Available to guests staying at The Peninsula Hong Kong for two nights or more, the Bespoke Circus Tram Academy experience begins with an elegant ride in one of the hotel’s famed Rolls-Royce Phantoms, whisking guests to the Western Market Tram Terminal on Hong Kong Island. The two-hour tram ride features a history and architectural tour and entertainment hosted by a local expert, which guests can enjoy while exploring the tram’s three intriguing rooms and indulging in canapés and beverages from The Peninsula.

Available daily from 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm and 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm, the Bespoke Circus Tram Academy experience is priced at HK$ 46,888* for weekdays and HK$ 50,888* for weekends for a minimum of two persons, and a maximum of five persons, historical and cultural tour and a choice of entertainment inclusive.
