A refined tradition passed down from generation to generation, Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula’s iconic Lobby has been one of Hong Kong’s most cherished experiences. Beginning 1 February 2019, the city’s Grande Dame is adding an extra touch of élan to the occasion with the launch of the “BVLGARI FIOREVER & THE PENINSULA” Afternoon Tea presented in partnership with world-renowned Italian luxury brand BVLGARI.
This co-presented “BVLGARI FIOREVER & THE PENINSULA” Afternoon Tea is the latest chapter in a more than 20-year-long relationship that stretches back to BVLGARI’s debut at The Peninsula Arcade.
A whimsical combination of the Italian word for flower, FIORE, and the English word FOREVER, “FIOREVER” has now become an inseparable element of the magnificent Roman jeweler. BVLGARI immortalizes the eight-petal flower unfolds four outer and four inner parts whilst eight is the universal insignia of good fortune that these eight delicate petals blossom most graciously. FIOREVER is an emblem of the Roman passion for life, in an enchanting diamond creation.
Translating the lustrous sophistication of the BVLGARI jewellery collection into edible form, The Peninsula’s culinary team have created a three-tiered tea set that is as tempting as it is indulgent.
The “BVLGARI FIOREVER & THE PENINSULA” Afternoon Tea’s most alluring delicacies can be found on the top tier, includes tiramisu tart with espresso jelly, mini pan d’oro with clementine, panna cotta with mango and almond biscottini with crema di cioccolato that subtly references the eight-dimensional petals of the collection. Guests will discover a selection of exquisite desserts capturing the freshness of floral blossom and the Roman passion for life.
For lovers of savoury treats, moreish morsels can be found on the second tier in the form of an egg-shaped Polenta custard with butter-fried sweetcorn and egg-yolk mayonnaise, Smoked salmon with lemon pearls and sour cream, Prosciutto Parma ham with butter choux, crispy quinoa and vinegar pearls as well as the classic dill-marinated cucumber with ricotta cheese sandwiches.
Completing the set are a pair of zesty citrus chocolates and The Peninsula’s famous freshly baked, buttery raisin scones served with velvety clotted cream and heavenly organic strawberry jam. The “BVLGARI FIOREVER & THE PENINSULA” Afternoon Tea is priced at HK$ 398 for one person or HK$ 718 for two and will be served daily from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm from 1 February to 31 March 2019. The Lobby Strings band provides the perfect accompaniment, playing classical music from 12:00 pm to 6:30 pm every day (except Mondays).
