The Art World Gathers at The Peninsula Hong Kong to Debut the 2026 Art in Resonance Exhibition

24/03/2026

The Peninsula launched its 2026 "Art in Resonance" programme at its iconic flagship hotel, The Peninsula Hong Kong, unveiling three new commissioned artworks — including one in partnership with the UK’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). The programme celebrates craftsmanship through a contemporary lens, cultural dialogue, and innovative artistic expression.

More than 600 guests came together at the legendary hotel for its highly anticipated annual cocktail party, now recognised as the official start to Hong Kong Art Week.  The evening continued with an exclusive dinner in partnership with The Art Newspaper & L’Officiel Art. Hosted at Sun Terrace with its magnificent views over the Hong Kong skyline, the event was attended by luminaries representing some of the world’s leading museums, galleries, auction houses, and cultural organisations. Along with the evening's festivities, guests enjoyed the exhibition's immersive artworks from Hong Kong artist Angel Hui, Tokyo‑based Indonesian ceramicist Albert Yonathan Setyawan, and Hong Kong architect‑artist Dr. William Lim, all of which will be on public display at the hotel through 5 May.

The evening was hosted by Benjamin Vuchot, Chief Executive Officer of The Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels, Limited, owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, with the dinner presented in partnership with The Art Newspaper and L’Officiel Art, represented by Julia Michalska, Global Editor-in-Chief of The Art Newspaper. The evening welcomed esteemed guests including Charles F. Stewart, Chief Executive Officer, Sotheby's, and Marc Spiegler, Former Global Director, Art Basel. The evening was attended by internationally renowned collectors, and art-world and cultural luminaries, including Aaron Cezar, Alan Chan, Claudia Albertini, Edward Tang, Flora Yu, Gregor Muir, Ivan Pun, Jessi Chloe Chen, Jonathan Cheung, Kulapat Yantrasast, Levina Li-Cadman, Dr. Maria Mok Kar-wing, Marisa Yiu, Peter Cheung, Shane Akeroyd and Nicola Chu, Tatiana de Pahlen, Tim Neuger, Togzhan Wertheimer, and Veronica Chou.
