The Peninsula Chicago Celebrates Two Decades of Service

The Peninsula Chicago celebrates the hotel’s 20^th Anniversary on June 1^st, continuing a two decades-long tradition of welcoming guests with a blend of midwestern hospitality and Far Eastern graciousness. As part of the anniversary celebrations, The Peninsula Chicago offers three ways for guests to maximize their health benefits at The Spa:

• 20% off all spa treatments on Tuesdays in June. For five select days in June guests receive the benefit of taking care of oneself physically and financially! Guests must mention the “20^th Anniversary Spa” offer at the time of reservation.

Culinary Classics Revived

Over the years, select menu items have become favorites at the various Peninsula restaurants. In recognition of the hotels’ 20^th anniversary, the culinary team has researched classic menu items and selected a list of popular favorites for guests to enjoy June through December. Aroma and taste have a way of stirring up good memories. The hotel invites guests to take a culinary journey from the past 20 years, one bite at a time!

Beginning in June and continuing through 2021, a selection of classic favorite menu items is available on The Lobby menu. Shanghai Terrace will pay tribute to the anniversary with a bespoke, limited dim sum dumpling.

• The Lobby: Favorite past menu items include: Roasted Tomato Soup; Classic Caesar Salad; Szechwan Prawns; The Peninsula Club; Pierrot Gourmet Chicken Salad; Rice Noodles with Shrimp and Tenderloin.
• Shanghai Terrace: The Peninsula 20^th Anniversary Dumpling features a rainbow patterned wrap made with colorful vegetables. This special dumpling includes shrimp and a variety of vegetables, aptly honoring Peninsula’s 20^th Anniversary with 20 ingredients in each dumpling.

A Celebratory Toast

A signature cocktail is available in Z Bar, The Lobby and Shanghai Terrace now through the end of 2021. ‘The Pen 20’ is a specialty cocktail with an Asian influence of jasmine pearl tea, French lavender and is topped with Champagne—now that’s worth celebrating!

Community Meal Donation Program

A community meal donation campaign was launched throughout all Peninsula Hotels in the summer of 2020 to assist the most vulnerable during the pandemic. For meals purchased at the hotel’s restaurants The Peninsula Chicago is making a one-for-one meal donation to The Greater Chicago Food Depository, which is part of Feeding America national organization. This program will continue through 2021 with a donation of a meal for a person in need for every culinary classic ordered, as well as The Peninsula 20th Anniversary Dumpling and The Pen 20 celebratory cocktail.
