Handcrafted by skilled chefs at The Peninsula Bangkok, the iconic Egg Custard Mooncakes carry forward a legacy that began in 1986 at The Peninsula Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Spring Moon restaurant. Made using a time-honoured recipe, these mooncakes feature a luxuriously smooth custard centre wrapped in delicate golden pastry. 

To complement this classic, the hotel has crafted three additional flavours for 2025: Aromatic Osmanthus Tea, Smooth Lotus Seed and Indulgent Durian. Each flavour is made from premium ingredients and thoughtfully balanced to reflect the harmony and richness of this traditional treat. Each mooncake undergoes a series of precise processes before being baked to a golden-brown perfection, with the 'Dragon Fish' pattern conveying auspiciousness in its original style, designed exclusively for Mei Jiang Restaurant. All mooncakes are presented in elegant, sustainable packaging. The classic red and green octagonal box, inspired by the lotus flower pattern, is available with either eight Egg Custard Mooncakes or an assortment of flavours. Introducing the Limited-Edition “Moonlit Masquerade” Mooncake Collector’s Box

For guests seeking a truly memorable collectible, The Peninsula Bangkok presents the Moonlit Masquerade mooncake box, showcasing artwork by Pomme Chan, a celebrated Thai artist renowned for her distinctive style. She has collaborated with leading global brands such as Marc Jacobs, Kiehl’s, Nike, Adidas, Sony, BMW, MTV, and The New York Times, among others. She was also one of only fifteen artists chosen to design a poster for the 2015 Oscars.

Inspired by the magic of moonlit folklore, the design features mythical creatures including the kind-hearted Jade Rabbit, Athena’s all-seeing Owl, the wise Kitsune Fox, the moon-chasing Norse Wolf, the mystical Moon Toad, and the protective Tiger, gathered together in an otherworldly masked ritual to celebrate the magic, wisdom, and power of a luminous full moon.

Limited to only 150 individually numbered boxes, each one contains eight Egg Custard Mooncakes. The set also includes an exclusive fine porcelain tea set with gold detailing and a delicate pattern that mirrors the box’s enchanting artwork.
