This programme highlights both the opulent past and the contemporary luxury that characterize Istanbul. The experience encompasses a visit to the city's most glamorous Ottoman palace and a captivating tour of its magnificent art collection; an exploration of Istanbul's most fashionable modern neighborhoods; a private lunch at the house of a celebrated designer. The journey concludes with a guided visit to either Beylerbeyi Palace or Dolmabahçe Palace—two of the most distinguished residences of the Ottoman era—each offering a striking perspective on imperial elegance along the Bosphorus.
Explore Turkish art at the National Palaces Painting Museum in Dolmabahce Palace. Embark upon the opulence and history of the Ottoman period through an impressive collection of paintings. Take a stroll through the affluent Nişantaşı and Akaretler neighborhoods, known for fashion, design, and gastronomy. Visit local designer showrooms in Nişantaşı, then head downhill to Akaretler, showcasing a blend of Ottoman and European architectural elements from the late 19th century. Enjoy a private lunch at Nackiye in Akaretler, featuring a specially designed menu by chef Belkıs Boyacıgiller.
Conclude your journey with a guided visit to either Beylerbeyi Palace or Dolmabahçe Palace—two of the most distinguished residences of the Ottoman era—each offering a striking perspective on imperial elegance along the Bosphorus. Dolmabahçe Palace, with its opulent interiors and European-influenced design, reflects the grandeur of the later Ottoman period from its prominent location on the European shore. Beylerbeyi Palace, commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz in the 19th century, stands on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus, reflecting a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western architectural influences. Its finely crafted interiors and expansive waterfront setting offer a dignified perspective on the ceremonial and diplomatic life of the Ottoman court, providing a graceful and fitting close to this culturally rich experience.
