Meet the Curator Mackenzie Reilly
A native resident of New York, Mackenzie Reilly has lived and worked in France, Italy, Singapore, and The Netherlands as well as the United States. She attended the Perfumery School of the IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances, headquartered in New York), and has worked for both IFF, luxury publishing house Assouline, and Le Labo Fragrances. She did post-graduate work in Grasse, France studying the molecular composition of native plants. In 2019 she was recognised by Fashion Group International as a Rising Star in the Beauty Industry.



As a proud New Yorker, I am thrilled to create a custom scent for The Peninsula New York, a hotel that epitomises the elegance and style of the city I love most. I also couldn’t be happier to lend my creative endeavours to The Peninsula brand, a hotel group that represents a legacy of luxury unparalleled in the world of hospitality.

Top Notes: Quince, Ambrette, Peony
Middle Notes: Narcisse, Rose, Pimento
Base Notes: Ambroxan, Cedarwood, Musk
This fragrance’s classical rosy top note is modernized by the fruity essence of quince and delicate spices. The soft, verdant aromas of ambrette and cedar are complimented by additional floral notes of peony, jasmine, and narcissus, wrapped in soft diaphanous musks. The resulting scent is a robust woodsy floral that is joyful and inviting.
The fragrance is inspired by the vibrant dynamism of New York City – known around the world as an iconic hub of glamour. It also seeks to conjure the experience of walking into the grand lobby of The Peninsula New York, where the dignified architecture is graced by sumptuous arrangements of fresh flowers.
“In creating this scent, I aimed to capture the vibrant energy of the City that Never Sleeps. New York celebrates creativity and inclusivity every day, and I wanted to design a beautiful genderless fragrance that could be worn and enjoyed by everyone. I hope to capture the beauty of this optimism with feel-good fruits and florals, and a kick of spice for that fearless New York spirit.”
