Once the heartbeat of local life, these ancient residential lanes are rich in heritage, offering a captivating glimpse into the city’s authentic spirit. On this exclusive half-day tour, guests will be chauffeured to the Houhai area, home to some of Beijing’s most charming and well-preserved hutongs.


What Awaits: 

  • Rickshaw Ride Through History: Accompanied by a local Beijing resident as your personal guide, glide through the hutongs in a traditional rickshaw. Hear tales of family life, social customs, and the architectural nuances of the quadrangle courtyards.
  • Afternoon Tea on Houhai Lake: After the rickshaw ride, board a private boat to glide across Houhai Lake, famed for its willow-lined banks and historical ambiance. On board, indulge in a signature Peninsula Afternoon Tea, surrounded by panoramic views of water, rooftops, and tranquility.
