Ink Bistro Club Lounge
Beijing’s nightlife scene is hotting up – with the recent arrivals of super-glam Chaoyang outfits like stylish 1920s speakeasy Janes & Hooch (link to previous), dapper, old world-esque Glen (link to previous), and Brooklyn lookalike D Lounge, you’d be hard-pressed to find any new bar or club without its own impressive set of whistles and bells. Taking its cue from the lattermost, Ink ‘bistro club lounge’ entered the Sanlitun South circuit this past September with an ambitious multi-concept motto spread over three storeys – European kitchen occupying the first, disco club floor on the second, and chilled out bar lounge on the top floor.
Wearing so many hats can prove challenging, but Ink has so far impressed with its concrete floors, leather sofas, and especially the second floor club sound system turning out an eclectic mix of deep house and nu disco, from both resident DJ Alessandro Vigo as well as a host of guest mix-masters including Siberian DJ Pavel Sun and Miami’s DJ Haze. Cocktails veer towards the classics, but should you choose to enjoy dinner before dancing, a curated wine list awaits downstairs alongside the January menu of favourites like seafood bouillabaisse, grilled Australian sirloin and roasted spring chicken. So far, so good…
