The Peninsula Tokyo Appoints Stanley Tan as Director of Sales and Marketing


The Peninsula Tokyo is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Stanley Tan as Director of Sales and Marketing, effective 15 July 2019. In this capacity, Mr. Tan helms the Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Reservations, Brand Marketing, Communications, E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, and Event Management departments for the hotel.

With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the hospitality industry, and extensive sales expertise in specialised markets, Mr. Tan joins The Peninsula Tokyo from his most recent post as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. He previously held the same post at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore; and prior to that he served as Director of Sales and Marketing for two consecutive Shangri-La hotels: the Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo from 2008, and the Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul in 2012. No stranger to The Peninsula Hotels, Mr. Tan additionally enjoyed a brief period of time with The Peninsula Hong Kong as Director of Business Development in 2001.

A resident of Japan for more than 15 years, Mr. Tan is fluent in both written and spoken Japanese, as well as English and Mandarin. A Singaporean national, he graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts and Social Sciences.
