The Peninsula Tokyo has been the recipient of some of the hospitality industry’s most esteemed awards including the Crystal Award by SpaFinder and making Conde Nast Traveler’s prestigious Gold List in 2013. In 2017, the hotel was named Best Hotel in Tokyo, voted by Travel + Leisure readers globally in its annual World's Best Awards. This February 2018, the hotel was named a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star hotel for its third consecutive year, and the hotel’s Peninsula Spa received Forbes Five-Star status for the fourth year in a row, one of only two in Tokyo.

  • Ms. Sonja Vodusek

    General Manager

    Australian-born, Ms. Vodusek brings more than 20 years of experience in the luxury hotel industry. She received separate diplomas in hotel and business management from the Blue Mountain International Hotel Management School in Sydney and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, respectively. She first joined The Peninsula Hotels as Hotel Manager at The Peninsula New York in 2010 and relocated to Manila as General Manager in 2011 before joining The Peninsula Tokyo in 2015.

  • Mr. Joseph Lee

    Resident Manager

    Mr Lee joined The Peninsula Tokyo as Executive Assistant Manager in November 2016, and was promoted to Resident Manager in April 2018. With over 18 years of experience in Food and Beverage operations, his extensive culinary travels have taken him across four continents, working at luxury hotels and resorts such as the Fairmont Grand Hotel in Ukraine, Raffles Seychelles, and St. Regis Bangkok. Mr Lee holds a Culinary Arts Degree from the Western Culinary Institute in Oregon and a degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of Massachusetts.

    Ms. Otake joined The Peninsula Tokyo in July 2017 from De Beers Diamond Jewellers Japan, where she held the position of Country Director for the past three years. Prior to this, she held a number of positions within marketing and strategic planning with Sony Corporation in Tokyo, Sony Corporation of America in New York, Sony Pictures Entertainment in Los Angeles, and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communication in Sweden. Fluent in Japanese and English, Ms. Otake holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France and is a graduate of International Christian University in Tokyo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations.

    Mr. Patric Hadorn

    Director of Food and Beverage
    Mr. Hadorn joined The Peninsula Tokyo in May 2018 from his role as Director of Food & Beverage at ANA Intercontinental Tokyo, where he led all AMEA Food & Beverage initiatives for the Japan region. Originally from Switzerland, Mr. Hadorn obtained his first Director of Food & Beverage position at Hotel Opera, Kyiv, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, later moving to Intercontinental Hotels in Kyiv and Ho Chi Minh before transferring to Tokyo in 2014. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality from the Swiss Hotel Management School and speaks English, German, and French.
  • Mr. Satoshi Honma

    Mr. Honma has over 15 years experience in the international luxury hotel industry. He joined The Peninsula Tokyo in 2008 as Assistant Director of Human Resources and in 2012 was promoted to Director. He is currently responsible for over 500 members of staff at the hotel.

  • Mr. Yasuyuki Tsuboi

    Mr. Tsuboi graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. With a rich international background living in Egypt, Iran, Kuwait and USA, he joined The Peninsula Tokyo’s pre-opening team in 2007 as a room reservations agent. In 2008 Mr. Tsuboi moved to the Sales Department and in 2017, he was promoted to Director of Sales.
  • Ms. Tomoka Sano

    Director of Public Relations & Brand Communications, Japan
    Ms. Sano has more than 15 years’ experience working in the sports management, sports broadcasting and luxury fashion industries. She joined as Public Relations Manager as a member of the pre-opening team in 2007 before being promoted to Director of Public Relations and Brand Communications in 2015, overseeing The Peninsula Hotels public relations in Japan. Ms. Sano holds a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Commerce, Waseda University.

    Italian-born, Chef Massimiliano “Massi” Ziano began his career in Turin working at Michelin-starred Ristorante La Smarrita and Balbao restaurants. In 2000, he joined Shangri-La Bangkok as Chef de Cuisine of Angelini. In 2002, Chef Massi was appointed Executive Chef of Grand Hyatt Jakarta, where he started an eleven-year career with Hyatt and ocnitnued on as Executive Chef at Grand Hyatt Singapore, Park Hyatt Saigon, Grand Hyatt Shanghai and Park Hyatt Seoul before joining The Peninsula Tokyo in November 2016

    Executive Pastry Chef

    Born and raised in France, Chef Pascal Cialdella joined The Peninsula Tokyo in October 2017 with 30 years of extensive experience as a pastry chef. He has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants L’Agath in Luxembourg and L’Ortolan in Berkshire; completed a four-year stint teaching at Le Cordon Bleu in London; and has worked across Asia including South Korea and most recently in Japan as Executive Pastry Chef at The Park Hyatt Tokyo. Chef Cialdella is fluent in French and English and is conversational in Italian, German, Korean, and Japanese.

    Ms. Cecilia Clauzier

    Born in the UK and a native of France, Ms. Clauzier is a member of the prestigious Les Clefs d'Or association and has worked in various renowned five-star hotels in Paris, Mexico and New York. In 2010, Cecilia joined The Peninsula New York where she worked for five years. She joined The Peninsula Tokyo as International Chief Concierge in August 2017, leading a team of 15 Concierges to provide guests with authentic and enriching local experiences. Cecilia is fluent in French, Spanish, English and Portuguese.

  • Ms. Akane Tanaka

    Chief Concierge

    Ms. Tanaka has over 16 years of international guest relations’ experience. She was posted to Amsterdam for seven years before returning to Japan to work in the luxury hotel industry, and in 2007, she accepted the position of Chief Concierge at The Peninsula Tokyo. Ms. Tanaka is one of only 14 members of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or Japan.

    Ms. Murata has over 15 years of guest relations experience working in the USA and Japan. She was appointed Guest Relations Manager of The Peninsula Tokyo in 2007.

  • Mr. Jun Otani

    Director of Bridal
    Mr Otani has over 25 years experience in the hotel and catering industry in Japan overseeing rooms, banquets, meetings and weddings. He joined The Peninsula Tokyo as Director of Catering in 2006. Mr Otani holds certificates granted by Cornell University and Lausanne Hospitality Consulting for hotel sales and hospitality management studies respectively. In 2013, he joined Hilton Tokyo as Director of Sales and in 2015, he re-joined The Peninsula Tokyo as Director of Bridal and Conference Services.

    With a solid track record in managing luxury salons and spas both overseas and in Japan, Ms. Saito joined The Peninsula Tokyo in November 2017. Garnering extensive knowledge from over 17 years in the beauty industry including sales and training at international luxury cosmetic companies, Ms. Saito brings a wealth of creativity and strategic expertise to The Peninsula Spa team.
