Winter Warmers

January 05, 2015
It’s gotten chillier than a samurai’s stare out on the streets of Tokyo lately, but fortunately for us fashionable folk, outdoorsy Pennsylvanian brand Woolrich has finally landed in the capital. With a pedigree harking back to the Civil War, this American classic unveiled its chalet-like Omotesando store stocked to the rafters with toasty fleece-lined parkas, mohair sweaters and outdoor kit that will ensure you stay stylishly rugged up throughout the colder months.

Glowing like a beacon of warmth, the red buffalo check-clad façade opens up to a Masamichi Katayama-designed white and woody flagship. Inside there’s an extensive selection of classic US-made apparel from the label’s Original line, plus travel-friendly totes, accessories and a tight edit of impeccably finished streetwear from Mark McNairy’s Woolen Mills collection. For the ladies there are nifty wrinkle-resistant tees, cosy cotton cardis and cold-busting down jackets, while for fash-savvy sirs there’s a masculine melange of flannel shirts, heavyweight wool trousers and plenty of plaid. Also in the mix are puddle-proof boots, beanies and, of course, an abundance of Woolrich’s original seamless socks adorned with fun snowflake, polka-dot and sheep motifs. Get down, warm up!
