Fashion Made Easy

September 21, 2015
Seoul might be snapping at Tokyo’s immaculately encased heels in pursuit of Asia’s style crown, but, sartorially speaking, the Nippon capital is in a voguish league of her own.

From Harajuku’s cutesy candy-coloured costumes and cooler-than-thou club kids, to Shinjuku’s edgy mod mavens and Ginza’s label Mabels, this is one well-dressed metropolis. But where do the city’s sleeksters go when they’re in need of a wardrobe update? Why, to Yoyogi Uehara’s Delta, of course.

The much-loved fash cache opened in 2008 and has been keeping Tokyoites trig n’ trim ever since. Rakish racks feature a superb edit of emerging and established international designers as well as those from closer to home.

Fans of the ever-popular and effortlessly wearable sports-luxe look can kit themselves out in Alexander Wang or add a pop of colour courtesy of London-based Lazy Oaf. Raw denim gets a look in from Scandi faves Dr. Denim, while those that love a statement tee can find their fix with Eleven Paris or the always-irreverent House of Holland. Footwear fetishists are also catered to, with shoes from homegrown brands, Toga and Toga Pulla.

But it’s not just the garms that are gorge, the boutique is simply beautiful too. Designed by award-winning architect Yuko Nagayama – who was responsible for the stunning Louis Vuitton Kyoto Daimaru store – it’s clean, light, elegant and lets the togs do the talking. Delta-rrific!
