All Agnès

January 18, 2016
Agnès b. Matsuya Ginza Rue du Jour
Tokyo certainly has its own unique and much-imitated style, but there’s no doubt that the Nippon look is inspired, at least in part, by a fondness for French fashion; case in point: the bow-collared shirts and high-waisted skirts favoured by local Lolitas.

But fortunately for those who are after Parisian picks that don’t include frilly doll dresses or stripy stockings, Ginza now has its own bastion of Gallic garb – Agnès b. Matsuya Ginza Rue du Jour, a three-storey flagship filled with the French brand’s entire range of casj-chic goodies for him, her, kiddies and home.

While the city already has several Agnès outposts, this newcomer is the first boutique to showcase the label’s full lineup. Sashay through the glass doors into a decidedly un-femme space of polished concrete, white tiles and raw wood shelves. The glints of girliness come solely from on-show apparel ranging from tartan tea dresses and soft cotton cardigans to Breton tees and polka dot skirts.

Also on the racks: the complete Homme, Enfant and Voyage ranges, as well as exclusive bits from To B. by Agnès b., activewear and curated La Maison sur l’Eau decor items.

And, when it’s time for that post-shop flop, there’s an onsite Obscura Coffee Roasters cafe for house-blended brews. Charmant!
