Hello, Sir!

November 09, 2015
Mr Nova
Givenchy knew a thing or two about looking sharp, so when he said, ‘luxury is in each detail’, you can be certain he was on to something. This same line of thought is practiced by Phoebus Zhang, the founder of Shanghai’s first ever men’s accessories boutique Mr Nova.
The former buyer cuts an unquestionably elegant figure, expressing himself through the added extras; a pop of brightly coloured sock here, a pocket square there. And this is exactly what he encourages other gents to do, too.
Inspired by the fine fellow’s only online fash stop Mr Porter, Zhang set about creating his own decidedly Chinese concept, and thus, the swank space on Wuyuan Lu was born.
Carrying a dapper stash of outfit-defining accoutrements, the handsomely appointed store stands up to its patron’s impeccable personal style. Among the adornments on offer are dandy ‘kerchiefs from homegrown game-changers Young Chinese Blood; handcrafted natural wood sunnies from French faves Waiting For The Sun; Italian style icon (and personal friend of Zhang’s) Lino Ieluzzi’s natty Lucky7 ties; and a selection of spiffy bags from British sartorial staple Smart Turnout.
So, if you’re after wardrobe wonders that will make you stand out from the crowd, there’s only one mister you need to know.
