Two-floor Temptress

April 21, 2016
New resto-bar-club Yeeels, opened just last year, is still the place to see and be scene. Modern luxury (brushed brass, onyx, marble and mirrored surfaces) is the name of the game here – think 1920s New York meets Parisian salon – with a labyrinthine set-up over two floors. Founded by Benjamin Artis, the gent behind elite celeb hot spot L’Arc, it’s slap-bang in the middle of the Golden Triangle, bordered by the Champs-Elysées and avenues Montaigne and George V.
Hybrid sup/sippers are trending at the moment, and you can sample both in style here. The ground floor is home to the restaurant, with a menu of showy lunch and dinner fare spanning Wagyu beef, miso-marinated black cod, pizza with truffles and Pierre Hermé pastries (yes, you’ve died and gone to Japanese-Gallic gourmet heaven!). Interiors by Rodolphe Parente and Benjamin Liautaud are just as delicious, lined with velvet rugs, black Marquina marble flooring and royal blue banquettes.

An OTT central staircase, composed from folding brass screens, leads to the Jewelry Box bar, with an onyx counter for quaffing a Porn Star cocktail of vodka, vanilla liqueur and Champagne. Even if you’re not a smoker, don’t miss the Pop-tastic fumoir, which has been given the Alec Monopoly street-art treatment. This bling night owl attracts Russian oligarchs, flash financiers and the jet set. Impressive Yeeels deserves toasting, be it with bubbles or a Cuban…
