Dandy Barberdashery n’ Bar

March 17, 2017
Felipe and Sons / Thirsty Barber

Like a cheeky quaff with your quiff? Hip super-swish Manila barbershop and hairdresser Felipe and Sons has launched a new incarnation in San Juan – Thirsty Barber – with a fabulous, in-demand speakeasy attached. Where do we sign up?

Reviving Manila’s swagger one chop at a time, brill “barberdashery” Felipe and Sons should be on every discerning gent’s hit list, with five branches around town. Its old-school name celebrates the country’s sartorial heritage and dandy forefathers: “Felipe is the Philippines and we are all his sons”. Togged up in sleek wood-and-mirror-lined interiors with black-and-white barber’s chairs and snazzily uniformed staff, the original man cave specialises in clean cuts, close shaves, custom clothing and cool beer. Commandeer a cut and rinse, shave or a dash of beard sculpting at the barbershop, with facials, manscaping, shoe shines and sneaker cleans also up for grabs.

Felipe’s handy haberdashery deals in men’s custom apparel and accessories, ideal for special occasions. Pick up a dapper shirt, suit or jacket, with prices ranging from Basics to Studio and Premium. Stock up on cool kit from Edwin watches to Gouache waxed canvas bags and Eight Wolves pomades. Then kick back with a cup of brew from Colloquial Coffee.

Bro bar Thirsty Barber combines a barbershop with a stylish watering hole, ideal for pals to sip a whisky or cocktails while you get a rockabilly clip or Peaky Blinders barnet.
