Fool Me Twice, Déjà Vu

Tickets are selling like hot deep-dish slices for The Second City’s 104th Review ‘Fool Me Twice, Déjà Vu’. If you get the feeling you’ve seen this comedy sketch show before, then that’s exactly the point. The cheeky title hints at its key concept, with the first half including a mix of funny unrelated sketches, followed by the cast revisiting them in the second act, and pulling a fast one over the audience. Wait and see…

Directed by Ryan Bernier, this funny, charismatic two-hour revue was written and is performed by some of Chicago’s top improv talent, including returning cast members Chelsea Devantez, Paul Jurewicz and Daniel Strauss alongside Mainstage newcomers Rashawn Nadine Scott, Sarah Shook and Jamison Webb. A hilarious exploration of intuition – ‘Have you been here before? Should you do anything different?’ – it covers contemporary ground, from Millennials to Christian media, hyper-competitive mothers to modern technology. Expect physical comedy, hot topics, thoughtful asides, audience interaction and plenty of gags.

For a top night out, book a dinner package through the Box Office at restaurant partners within walking distance in Old Town, with tasty pre-theatre menus at Italian eateries Orso’s and Dinotto, barbecue hottie Fireplace Inn, and MidWestern produce-inspired Perennial Virant.

This is one of influential comedy club Second City’s strongest revues in years, so treat yourself. You may want to go again… and again… and again…

Until 4 Jan, 2017.
