"I Feel Pretty!"

April 11, 2013
West Side Story

Since it was first performed more than fifty years ago, West Side Story has been regarded by many as the very pinnacle of musical theatre perfection. The brainchild of four of history’s most famous creatives, it was written by late Tony Award-winner Arthur Laurents and choreographed by late Oscar-winner Jerome Robbins, with world-renowned musical numbers by acclaimed composers Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, who between them garnered prestigious Oscars, Tony and Grammy gongs, amongst many others. Inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and following the story of a pair of ill-fated lovers in 1950s New York, it combines beautiful urban ballet and lively musical numbers like “Maria”, “Somewhere” and “I Feel Pretty,” leading the audience through an emotionally gripping tale of conflict, romance and comedy.

Now, the award-winning Broadway production of this world-famous show brings its nationwide tour to L.A’s Pantages Theatre from 9-14 April in a vibrant performance directed by David Saint, and with just 8 dates to choose from, you’ll need to book well ahead to to score a seat at this must-see musical.
