Star-studded Scene

August 01, 2013
The Cosmo

Glitzy, ritzy, sunny and moneyed Los Angeles has no shortage of hip establishments for after-hours partying, whether it’s in a terraced hotel lounge full of power players and producers, a retro vinyl-spinning den in hipster Echo Park, or a celeb-studded scene right at home in Hollywood. The latest to join the ranks of the lattermost is The Cosmo, a boutique dance den that debuted this summer from entrepreneur Suk Sung and the Boulevard Nightlife Group (Roxbury, Lure, Supperclub) with an impressive gothic-inspired interior, bass-heavy house beats, and VIP clientele.

With vaulted ceilings and arched entryways coming courtesy of designer Kris Keith, the space is also fitted with custom crystal chandeliers and tufted booths lining the dance floor – but the Renaissance-vibe and overall gothic feel end there. A thoroughly state-of-the-art EAW sound system and three LED walls keep the club firmly in the C.21st, as does the drinks menu, shining the spotlight squarely on the creative cocktail list of classic and not-so-classic Cosmopolitans (try the Cherry Cosmo, featuring Grey Goose Cherry Noir, orange liqueur, cranberry and lemon). With so many of the city’s prettiest setting the scene here, be sure to dress to impress – or book one of the private VIP booths upstairs – for a chance to step past the velvet rope.
