Movie Night Magic

May 19, 2017
La La Land in Concert

Loved La La Land? Well, you’ll adore it even more when you see it with a live music accompaniment at the stunning Hollywood Bowl, America’s largest natural outdoor amphitheatre, complete with massive fireworks finale. Erase memories of that cringe-worthy Best Picture announcement at the Oscars (poor Warren and Faye!) with this magical musical-movie mash-up…

Composer Justin Hurwitz will conduct his Oscar-winning score at this perky premiere on Memorial Day Weekend (Fri 26 and Sat 27 May), set to dreamy sequences from the Damien Chazelle-directed film and backed by a 100-piece symphony orchestra, choir and jazz ensemble. Superfans can soak up heartthrob Ryan Gosling and leading lady Emma Stone’s melancholy duet City of Stars (the Oscars’ Best Original Song), while ogling real ones glittering in the night sky above. Don’t expect to hear the film’s actors live though – the pre-recorded vocals of Gosling, Stone and John Legend from the movie will be blended with the live music to create a vibrant hybrid experience.

Enjoy special pre-show photo opps at the iconic LA venue and pre-order picnic boxes. Launched by film producer Lionsgate, the orchestral film concert will go on to tour the world, bringing Technicolor romance to the UK, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Turkey and Switzerland, as well as multiple stops around the US, so if you don’t catch the concert in LA don’t despair. Your toes will soon be twinkling…

26-27 May, 2017.
