Champagne food at beer prices in La La Land?! Can this be real?! Shattering New Year’s resolutions everywhere, two-week winter resto fest dineLA is once again offering prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus at some of the city’s finest eateries – so you can savour their dreamiest dishes for less. It’s time to get that index-finger flexing as we share our must-book favourites.

Fancy feasting on local fare? Rustic-chic wood-burner bistro AOC in Beverley is offering a two-course lunch of morsels like flaked albacore salad for a mere $25, with optional added dessert (ah, what the heck). Or, for top-end Cali, sashay into Wolfgang Puck’s institution Spago for a sophisti-plated seasonal taster ($95+).

Adventurous foodies can experience some fabulous New American cooking care of boundary-pushing Hinoki & The Bird in Century City (dinner $49 – hello, buckwheat chocolate cake with cardamom and orange blossom), and WeHo’s innovative Ink, which will be whipping up a four-course truffle set (dinner $95+).

Still on a US tip, sample chef Michael Cimarusti’s sustainable seafood tidbits at shiney diner Connie & Ted’s in WeHo (lunch $25 or dinner $39) or at top table Providence in Hollywood (dinner $95+).

Craving elegant Euro nosh? Med prettykin Birch in Hollywood is serving a two-course seasonal supper ($39), with choices from chicken liver and foie gras mousse to pork chops with roasted pears, followed by a sweet treat. Or, Thomas Keller’s so-French, so-chic Bouchon in Beverly Hills will woo you with lunch ($25) or dinner ($49).

Last but not least, veggies and vegans should mosey over to hit Mexi marvel Gracias Madre (lunch $25, dinner $49) for plant-based samplers like pumpkin empanadas, and persimmon and kale salad tempting the taste buds. Nom nom nom…
