Vintage Vogue Trove

July 07, 2014

With a resume boasting several stints in the high fashion world (most notably a gig as Salvatore Ferragamo’s sole celebrity relations contact in the US), Lisa Khakshouri has proved to be one fashionista well worth her red sole pumps. So, when word escaped that she had opened her vintage boutique Ludwig in Beverly Hills, carrying a hyper-edited, show-stopping selection of about 250 standout pieces from the haute who’s who (from Oscar de la Renta to Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel), it was only a matter of days before her fashion treasure trove became the talk of this A-list town (hello, Drew Barrymore and Rachel Zoe)!

If you want a piece of priceless vintage runway, then make a beeline to the store’s 700 sq ft Santa Monica Boulevard space, where whitewashed walls, pale stone tile floors and commissioned metal and glass furniture form an extravagant yet restrained backdrop for Khakshouri’s covetable stash. Currently flying off the custom gold rails are one-off wares like a Christian Dior pleated skirt, ‘90s leopard print Valentino silk blouse, and a body-con metallic dress from the catalogues of ‘60s Neiman Marcus. As if these wardrobe must-haves weren’t reason enough, keep an eye out for a Ludwig-exclusive collection of hand-painted antique travel bags from Kara Atler’s New-York-based brand Suitcase Heart, so you’ll have stylish kits to lug your retro haul.
