Un Festival Français

June 01, 2015
Festival Croisements
From haute couture to haute cuisine, camembert to Colette, and French bread to French kissing, les lovely français have given us a lot to be thankful for. And their influence can be felt as far away as Beijing, with the current Festival Croisements feting all things Gallic.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of what has become the biggest French cultural festival abroad, as well as China’s largest celebration of foreign culture, and with countless events in as many disciplines as years it’s been running, Croisements really does promise something for everyone.

Visual art, architecture and design, cinema, music, literature and street art will all be represented, with some of the highlights including an interactive new media exhibition, ExtraPolis, that examines the concept of a city as an entity in perpetual motion; a comedic ballet by Molière reimagined by director Denis Podalydès and designer Christian Lacroix, The Bourgeois Gentleman; and a performance by four-man group Bukatribe, who defy definition, using only their voices to create impressively layered melodies. Zut, alors – les français sont arrivés!

Until 10 Jul, 2015.
