Twenty Amazing Experiences

May 21, 2018

Happy birthday to us! The Peninsula Bangkok turns a whopping 20 years old this year and to mark the occasion, the hotel is offering 20 Amazing Experiences for guests to enjoy. From helicopter rides to real-deal foodie tours, here are just five highlights.

See Bangkok from up high with the Peninsula’s private helicopter ride: Soar Above Thailand’s City of Angels. Ideal for thrill seekers and shutterbugs, the 18-20-minute journey takes flight from the hotel’s rooftop aviation lounge (be sure to check out the vintage collection of flight memorabilia while there) and offers spectacular perspectives of the city – go for the sunrise or sunset flights for that picture-perfect moment.

Spend an indulgent evening bobbing along the Chao Phraya with the Sundown Cruise Treasures on the River of Kings. This private, two-hour jaunt aboard the hotel’s beautiful rice-barge boat is leisurely and romantic; perfect if you’re travelling à deux. Your personal bartender will be on hand to mix cocktails, mocktails or top up the Champagne, while the trad Thai band keep things lively.

Combining two of Thailand’s biggest allures – food and massage – the Thai Wellness Journey takes you on a bespoke tour to Wat Pho Pavilion of Wisdom (the home of Thai massage), then introduces Thai cuisine via a tour of the hotel’s herb garden and a cooking class. After lunch Thiptara, wind down with a Thai Royal massage, dedicated to help ease body and mind.

Kick start your day with a private Muay Thai workout. This ancient martial art is known for its incredible strength-building, cardio-boosting, calorie-busting effects – enjoy (or endure) the one-hour session under the shade of a banyan tree before collapsing with a massage and sauna/steam at The Peninsula Spa.

Gallivanting gourmands will love the Street Food Night Safari, a feast of a journey around Chinatown’s best eating spots – including Michelin-starred shophouse Jay Fai. After ambling around the area’s labyrinthian alleyways, you’ll hop onto a tuk-tuk to the spice, flower and Tha Tien markets. Pack your appetite!
