Bangkok’s Hottest New Galleries
There’s more to Bangkok than bargain-shopping and bar-hopping. As curious culture seekers will know, there’s never a shortage of new and innovative art openings in the capital, should you want to flex your intellectual muscles. Here are our go-to galleries!

Sathorn’s high-ceilinged Gallery Ver hosts large-scale contemporary artworks, including experimental and conceptual pieces. The airy, artist-led space represents many of the artists it shows, and adapts to suit the changing exhibitions. Established in 2006, its stable of mainly Thai artists recently moved to a new studio on Soi Narathiwat, off Narathiwat Road.

Creative agency turned creative concept MoST Gallery occupies a renovated three-floor shophouse in the heart of the Big Mango, near Si Phraya Pier, and is a spin-off of communication studio MoST 2414. Fans of international contempo photography and illustration prints, and design products including graphic lanterns, should beeline for this by-appointment-only space, which delves into East-meets-West connections. There’s an online boutique for MoSt-have buys too!

Located on the edge of Chinatown, four-storey shophouse Humble Projects is a small, independent arts and culture space. Works on display range from new student art to performance pieces. Learn about letterpress printing in workshops on the ground-floor; upstairs you’ll find bijou art exhibitions, screenings and seminars.

Formerly of Thonglor, artist-led initiative Tentacles is connected to Gallery Ver’s building, and offers an intriguing art space that doubles as a café. Take in an exhibition or workshop then kick back with a coffee and a snack. You’ve earned it!
