Street Sm-Art

January 18, 2016
Having found its feet as one of the pivotal players in Asia’s contempo art scene, this January, the Big Mango will up the ante with the second edition of achingly cool urban arts festival Bukruk II, following the success of the original 2013 street spectacle.

In a unique and eclectic convergence of East meets West, 13 artists and creatives from across Europe and Asia will curate a ten-day extravaganza of eye-popping exhibits, projections, talks and workshops alongside the Chao Phraya River.

Watch the Bangrak streets come to life with over ten giant live wall paintings, featuring street sensations Aitch (Romania), Aryz (Spain) and Daehyun Kim (Korea), to name a few, as well as a showstopper light installation by The Frameless Collective, and visual marvels by French media artist Freelenser and Dutch sensation Daan Botlek.

Crafty capering continues across three main stages, where beat-busters flurry for an open air musical showdown, kicking off with the festival’s opening party in a historical naval drydock facility, which spills out across a warehouse, two docks and riverside grounds.

Don’t miss local and international musicians and DJs spinning psychedelic, electro, hip-hop and indie tunes, including Spain’s El Guincho, France’s La Fine Equipe, Thailand’s Apartment Khunpa, and Myanmar’s Side Effect.

Complete the sensory spectacle with top eats from Artisan and Food Market by Bangkok favourite, The Jam Factory. Boom!
