The Peninsula Tokyo is a shining landmark located in the heart of Tokyo’s prestigious Marunouchi business district, opposite the Imperial Palace and a mere three-minute walk from Ginza, the city’s shopping hub. 

Modern and contemporary design is tastefully complemented with Japanese accents in this gracious free-standing hotel, which offers 314 spacious guestrooms, including 47 suites.

Completing the hotel’s sophisticated facilities are a collection of world class facilities, including five unique restaurants, a modern lounge bar, two ballrooms, six elegantly designed function rooms, a wedding chapel, a traditional Japanese ceremony room, a fitness centre offering state-of-the-art equipment, The Peninsula Spa, and a 20 metre (66 foot) indoor heated swimming pool with an adjoining outdoor terrace.

  • Ms. Sonja Vodusek
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    General Manager

    Australian-born, Ms. Vodusek brings more than 20 years of experience in the luxury hotel industry. She received separate diplomas in hotel and business management from the Blue Mountain International Hotel Management School in Sydney and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, respectively. She first joined The Peninsula Hotels as Hotel Manager at The Peninsula New York in 2010 and relocated to Manila as General Manager in 2011 before joining The Peninsula Tokyo in 2015.

  • Mr. Richard Sorensen
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Hotel Manager

    Canadian-born Mr. Sorensen has more than two decades of experience in the international luxury hotel industry in Canada, United States, the West Indies, Uruguay, and Costa Rica. In 2007, Sorensen joined The Peninsula New York as Resident Manager, later transferring to The Peninsula Chicago where he served as Hotel Manager for the past five years before joining The Peninsula Tokyo in March 2016.

  • Ms. Meret Brunner
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Director of Rooms
    Ms. Brunner joined The Peninsula Tokyo in 2016 from The Peninsula Bangkok, where she served as Front Office Manager since 2013. Prior to that, she was with The Peninsula New York for seven years where she held various positions within the Food & Beverage, Front Office, and Reservations departments. Ms. Brunner is a graduate of the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School in Luzern, and completed the one-year certificate program in Hotel Revenue Management at Cornell University, New York.
  • Ms. Akane Tanaka

    Chief Concierge

    Ms. Tanaka has over 16 years of international guest relations’ experience. She was posted to Amsterdam for seven years before returning to Japan to work in the luxury hotel industry, and in 2007, she accepted the position of Chief Concierge at The Peninsula Tokyo. Ms. Tanaka is one of only 14 members of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or Japan.

  • Ms. Noriko Murata

    Guest Relations Manager

    Ms. Murata has over 15 years of guest relations experience working in the USA and Japan. She was appointed Guest Relations Manager of The Peninsula Tokyo in 2007.

  • Mr. Adam Mathis
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Executive Chef

    Australian-born Mr. Mathis has had a long history with The Peninsula Hotels. Before joining The Peninsula Tokyo in 2010, he was Executive Chef at The Peninsula Manila, and prior to that was Executive Sous Chef at The Peninsula Bangkok and The Peninsula Beijing.

  • Mr. Satoshi Honma

    Director of Human Resources

    Mr. Honma has over 15 years experience in the international luxury hotel industry. He joined The Peninsula Tokyo in 2008 as Assistant Director of Human Resources and in 2012 was promoted to Director. He is currently responsible for over 500 members of staff at the hotel.

  • Mr. Mark Kobayashi
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Director of Marketing
    American-born Mr. Kobayashi has held senior marketing communications positions in Japan’s consumer and luxury hotel industry for over 17 years. Prior to this, he worked for the Governor of California. Mr. Kobayashi was appointed Director of Public Relations of The Peninsula Tokyo in 2006 and was promoted to Regional Director of Communications in 2012 overseeing public relations for The Peninsula Hotels in Japan. In 2015, Mr. Kobayashi was promoted to Director of Marketing.
  • Mr. Motoki Tanaka
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Director of Sales

    Mr. Tanaka has over 16 years’ experience in the hotel industry. In 2007, he joined The Peninsula Tokyo as Sales Manager and was promoted to Assistant Director of Sales in 2011 before becoming Director of Sales in 2014. Mr. Tanaka is fluent in English and French.

  • Ms. Tomoka Sano
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Director of Public Relations
    Ms. Sano has more than 15 years’ experience working in the sports management, sports broadcasting and luxury fashion industries. She joined as Public Relations Manager as a member of the pre-opening team in 2007 before being promoted to Director of Public Relations in 2015, overseeing The Peninsula Hotels public relations in Japan. Ms. Sano holds a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Commerce, Waseda University.
  • Mr. Jun Otani
    The Peninsula Tokyo
    Director of Bridal and Conference Services
    Mr Otani has over 25 years experience in the hotel and catering industry in Japan overseeing rooms, banquets, meetings and weddings. He joined The Peninsula Tokyo as Director of Catering in 2006. Mr Otani holds certificates granted by Cornell University and Lausanne Hospitality Consulting for hotel sales and hospitality management studies respectively. In 2013, he joined Hilton Tokyo as Director of Sales and in 2015, he re-joined The Peninsula Tokyo as Director of Bridal and Conference Services.
