Ms Henke joined The Peninsula Hotels in May 2011 as Hotel Manager of The Peninsula Shanghai. A native of Germany, she began her career in hospitality in Switzerland on a two-year apprenticeship at The Bernerhof in Gstaad and attended the Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern. Ms Henke’s international career has taken her to France, England and the United States, where she worked as General Manager of Blantyre, a Relais & Châteaux property in Lenox, Massachusetts. Prior to joining The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited (HSH), she held the position of Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons in Washington, D.C. and then at The Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, California.
Mr Rolf BuehlmannThe Peninsula BangkokResident Manager
The Peninsula Bangkok is pleased to welcome Mr Rolf Buehlmann to its executive management ranks as its Resident Manager since May 2014.
Rolf Buehlmann arrives at The Peninsula Bangkok from The Hong Kong Club, where he spent four years as Executive Assistant Manager. Whilst there from 2010 to 2014, he drove this prestigious club’s major renovation project, including redefining its offerings, services and processes. At the same time, he sharpened his skills across a broad spectrum of food and beverage and hospitality arts and disciplines, ranging from developing standard manuals, defining the wine investment strategy to setting up new restaurants, bars as well as fitness facilities.
From 2009 to 2010, Buehlmann was the opening Director of Food & Beverage at The Mira Hotel, Hong Kong.Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, Buehlmann was the Director of Food & Beverage at JW Marriott Hotel & Marriott Executive Apartments, Shanghai, China, and, from 2001 to 2006, was the Director of Food & Beverage at The Stanford Court Hotel, San Francisco, California where he quickly rose from Restaurant Manager to Director of Food & Beverage.
Buehlmann holds a Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management from the prestigious Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. From 1998 to 1999, he was a Management Trainee at the illustrious Baur au Lac Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, having previously apprenticed at two other eminent Swiss hotels: Beau-Rivage Palace, Lausanne and Grand Hotel Victoria-Jungfrau, Interlaken.
Mr Sunsakhon PikulkehaThe Peninsula BangkokDirector of FinanceMr Sunsakhon Pikulkeha joins The Peninsula Bangkok as its Director of Finance since 2012.
Mr Pikulkeha has a wide range of experience and knowledge he gained from 14 years in the financial departments of hotels in Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Bangkok and Lanai, Hawaii. This included his roles as Assistant Director of Finance with luxury chain Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and most recently as Director of Finance with Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok. Holding, among other qualifications, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Administration in Tourism Industry Management from Chiang Mai University, Mr Pikulkeha is a Thai national who speaks fluent English.
Mr Shane JollyThe Peninsula BangkokDirector of RoomsThe Peninsula Bangkok announces its appointment of Australian national Mr Shane Jolly as the hotel’s new Director of Rooms.
Mr Shane Jolly’s educational background, experience in the hospitality industry and expertise in information technology software and systems supporting guest management perfectly match the requirements of our hotel, which is known to offer luxurious and stimulating experiences.
He has spent his entire 15-year career as a room division professional with one of the leading brands at the five-star end of the hospitality industry. He has accumulated his remarkable experience at prestigious hotels in Australia and China.
His technical skills include consummate command of hospitality and travel industry systems such as Lotus Notes, OPERA V4.0, iScala, Reserve, Delphi and IDEAS.
He studied Business Administration from the University of South Australia and has also obtained formal architectural courses.
As Director of Rooms at the award-winning Peninsula Bangkok, Mr Jolly’s will not only maintain the hotel’s impeccable treatment of guests from all over the world but will also enhance their experience and ensure that the hotel’s name continues to be at the forefront of luxury hospitality in Asia and the world.

A widely experienced hotel professional from Germany, Martin Thomas Rahn has contributed to the business success of household-name hotels in Europe, America and Asia. He has a particular affinity with The Peninsula Hotels, which makes him the perfect fit for his present position.
In May 2014, Martin became the Director of Food and Beverage at The Peninsula Bangkok. It marked the beginning of his second stint with the hotel. He arrived in Thailand from the West Coast of the USA, where he helped to open Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel Valley, CA.
From 2006 to 2008, he joined The Peninsula Bangkok as Food and Beverage Coordinator. In early 2008, he then moved to The Peninsula Hong Kong where he stayed for over four years, until February 2011. His next Peninsula appointment was as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at The Peninsula Chicago from March 2011 until May 2014. Besides Martin’s evident talents and dedication, his career has been based on a solid formal education, not least graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Hotel Business Economics from the Hotel Management School, Heidelberg, Germany.In addition, Martin has continued with formal studies, including a Leading with Influence diploma from the Ivey School of Business in Hong Kong, completing the Professional Development Program at Cornell University, New York, USA and gaining an eCornell Certificate for Financial Statements. He is also a graduate of the German Wine Academy and has been a Chevalier of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne since 2010. Last but not least, his business ideas are featured in the authoritative Heidelberger handbook for hotel business and gastronomy.
Mr Pisarn KarnjanavanichThe Peninsula BangkokDirector of EngineeringMr Pisarn Karnjanavanich joined The Peninsula Bangkok as its Director of Engineering in July 2012. He is responsible for the hotel’s maintenance contracts and purchase of equipment, materials, tools, instruments and furniture as well as maintenance and repair of hotel equipment, tools and facilities. His role is to ensure smooth daily operation at the hotel.
Mr Karnjanavanich brings more than 22 years of experience ranging from the construction field to operations and management. His professional experience includes Thai Obayashi, Thailand’s leading Construction Company, and Chatrium Hotels.
He graduated with Master’s Degree in Engineering from Kasetsart University in Bangkok and obtained his professional electrical engineer license from the Council of Engineers of Thailand in 1997. He has attended a range of training courses including Construction Management at The Engineering Institution of Thailand, Boiler Control at the Technological Promotion Association (Thai-Japan) and Saving Energy in Large Air Conditioning Systems at the Bureau of Energy Regulation and Conservation.

Ms Kasemsuk has been appointed as the hotel’s Director of Public Relations since March 2013. Prior to joining The Peninsula Bangkok, she worked as a consultant for some of the world’s leading branding agencies including Weber Shandwick, McCann WorldGroup and JWT. She later joined the hospitality industry working for Accor Hospitality as Group Director of Marketing and Communications responsible for hotels under Mercure and ibis brand in Thailand and as Dusit International’s Corporate Director of Communications overseeing a collection of its hotels and resorts across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. A Thai native, Ms Kasemsuk obtained Master of Arts with first-class honour in International Communications from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
Mr Jed ArricivitaThe Peninsula BangkokDirector of SalesMr Jed Arricivita joined The Peninsula Bangkok as Director of Sales in June 2013. A seasoned sales and marketing professional specialising in the hospitality industry, Mr Arricivita’s expertise and experience, coupled with strong vision and goal orientation, make him a perfect match for The Peninsula Bangkok’s core commitment.
Those specialisations range from wholesale market cultivation to room rate and occupancy optimisation, including command of data management skills.
The first phase of his career saw Mr Arricivita quickly rise through the ranks at five-star hotels in Manila and Cebu in the Philippines, starting as Front Office Agent, then Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Director of Business Development and Director of Sales.
In 2010 he moved to Thailand to join a five-star regional chain hotel in Bangkok as its Director of Sales before taking on his current role as The Peninsula Bangkok’s Director of Sales.
Mr Arricivita graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of the Philippines in 1999.
Ms Wanida SaranpaiboolThe Peninsula BangkokDirector of Catering and Events ManagementMs Wanida Saranpaibool joins The Peninsula Bangkok as its Director of Catering and Events Management since 2012.
Prior to her appointment at The Peninsula Bangkok, Ms Saranpaibool worked for St. Regis Bangkok where she was Director of Events & Convention Services. She spent 19 years at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in the roles of Sales Manager, Associate Director of Sales and Director of Convention Services. Ms Saranpaibool brings a wealth of experience and skill in the corporate sales and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) sectors to her new posting at The Peninsula Bangkok. A Thai national, also fluent in English, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Assumption University with a major in marketing.
Ms Meret BrunnerThe Peninsula BangkokFront Office ManagerThe Peninsula Bangkok welcomes Ms Meret Brunner to its executive management ranks as its new Front Office Manager. Ms Brunner brings to The Peninsula Bangkok a wealth of primarily New York- and Swiss-schooled hospitality expertise across a wide range of key disciplines.
Ms Brunner spent seven years working for The Peninsula New York, starting in 2006 as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager before moving to In-Room Dining Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager and rising to Reservations Manager. As such she brings to The Peninsula Bangkok broad knowledge and in-depth experience of making a difference across hotel operations that are integral to overall success.
A Swiss native, Ms Brunner is a graduate of the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School Lucerne, Switzerland to which she later added a Cornell University Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management.
She served her apprenticeship in Switzerland at the famous Hotel de la Paix in Lausanne and Hotel Post in Zermatt and accumulated her early professional experience at hotels in the Republic of Ireland and Beijing, China.
Mr Andreas HauggThe Peninsula BangkokExecutive ChefKnown for his big smile and team spirit, Executive Chef Andreas Haugg brings to the hotel his expertise and rich experience in all key disciplines in catering—from menu design, sanitation, resource procurement to training. He arrived at the hotel fresh from a similar position at a leading international chain hotel in Cairo, Egypt. His passion for working in exotic locales has taken him to Mauritius and the Maldives. He honed and fine-tuned his world-class chef’s skills in top hotels in Germany, UK and US.
Andreas went straight into the catering industry from high school. He learned his craft at the renowned Technical Vocational School for Hotel Management in Wiesbaden, Germany, followed by an apprenticeship at the city’s celebrated restaurant, Gambrinus.
During this time, he served his compulsory one-year service in the German military before properly entering the haute cuisine profession and being shaped into a consummate professional and a creative culinary force that he is today. Besides his impeccable credentials as a chef, Andreas’s humility and desire to continually learn led him to successfully pursue a prestigious Master’s Degree in Culinary Art from Altöetingen Hotel Management School, Bavaria.
Chef Olivier ParisThe Peninsula BangkokExecutive Pastry ChefFormally trained in the fine French art of creating gourmet confectionary, patisseries and desserts, and mentored by leading figures in the profession in a succession of Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris, Olivier Paris continues The Peninsula Bangkok’s unbroken tradition of collecting world-class talents to ensure a full, five-star gastronomic experience for its appreciative guests.
A French nationality, Chef Paris joined The Peninsula Bangkok in October 2013. Since then he has been managing a team of five pastry chefs and 14 other staff members, overseeing desserts for four awarded outlets – The Lobby, River Cafe & Terrace, The Pool, The Peninsula Boutique, and banqueting for up to 700 guests at a time.
His previous position was at a top, international brand, Bangkok hotel which he joined in January 2012, carrying the title of Executive Pastry Chef South Asia, including three properties in Thailand, two in Vietnam and one each in Indonesia and India.
Prior to that Chef Paris spent six months as Executive Pastry Chef at the Beirut Souks’ 3 Michelin Star STAY and Sweet Tea restaurant where he worked with the celebrated Yannick Alleno.
From June 2009 to June 2011, he was Executive Pastry Chef at the 1 Michelin Star Le Laurent on the Champs Elysées in Paris where he created plated desserts for the a la carte menu. His recipes for Salon du Chocolat were published in Express-Paris Match and the well-received Laurent recipe book published in 2009.
Previously, he was consulting in Paris for 2 Michelin Stars Guy Martin, contributing to such celebrated outlets as Sensing, Grand Véfour, Baccarat Crystal Room and Atelier Guy Martin. As is his habit, all the time he was creating, collating and photographing new recipes for publication.
Other briefs have included the 2 Michelin Stars Grand Véfour in Paris, the 1 Michelin Star The Copenhagen in Paris. Not to mention CHAI 33 inventive cuisine in Paris, Hotel du Louvre, La Maison du Chocolat, the 3 Michelin stars George V, and Laduree, where he specialised in ice cream, all also in Paris.
Chef Paris was trained in ice carving with Gerard Taurin, in sugar art with Stéphane Klein, in macarons by Philippe Andrieux and studied at Mr. Perot (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) under Sébastien Bouillet.
