    General Manager
    Mr Joseph Sampermans is the new General Manager of the hotel. Sampermans returns to the Thai capital after almost a decade, having been Director of Food & Beverage at The Peninsula Bangkok from 2004 to 2007.

    A Dutch national, Sampermans graduated from Limburg Zuyd University in the Netherlands with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Before joining Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH), the owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, he undertook leadership roles at international luxury hotels in Cambodia, Germany and Thailand.

    Joseph Sampermans joined HSH in 2004 to take up the role of Director of Food & Beverage at The Peninsula Bangkok. In 2007, he moved to Japan to become the pre-opening Executive Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage at The Peninsula Tokyo, and one year later he was promoted to the post of Resident Manager.

    In 2010, Sampermans transferred to The Peninsula Hong Kong, the group’s flagship hotel. Two years later, in October 2012, he moved to Mainland China to oversee the landmark transformation of The Peninsula Beijing, which was unveiled in June 2016.

    Mr Sunsakhon Pikulkeha joins The Peninsula Bangkok as its Director of Finance since 2012.

    Mr Pikulkeha has a wide range of experience and knowledge he gained from 14 years in the financial departments of hotels in Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Bangkok and Lanai, Hawaii. This included his roles as Assistant Director of Finance with luxury chain Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and most recently as Director of Finance with Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok. Holding, among other qualifications, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Administration in Tourism Industry Management from Chiang Mai University, Mr Pikulkeha is a Thai national who speaks fluent English.

    Mr Jed Arricivita joined The Peninsula Bangkok as Director of Sales in June 2013. A seasoned sales and marketing professional specialising in the hospitality industry, Mr Arricivita’s expertise and experience, coupled with strong vision and goal orientation, make him a perfect match for The Peninsula Bangkok’s core commitment.

    Those specialisations range from wholesale market cultivation to room rate and occupancy optimisation, including command of data management skills.

    The first phase of his career saw Mr Arricivita quickly rise through the ranks at five-star hotels in Manila and Cebu in the Philippines, starting as Front Office Agent, then Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Director of Business Development and Director of Sales.

    In 2010 he moved to Thailand to join a five-star regional chain hotel in Bangkok as its Director of Sales before taking on his current role as The Peninsula Bangkok’s Director of Sales.

    Mr Arricivita graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of the Philippines in 1999.

    Director of Catering and Events Management
    Ms Wanida Saranpaibool joins The Peninsula Bangkok as its Director of Catering and Events Management since 2012.

    Prior to her appointment at The Peninsula Bangkok, Ms Saranpaibool worked for St. Regis Bangkok where she was Director of Events & Convention Services. She spent 19 years at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in the roles of Sales Manager, Associate Director of Sales and Director of Convention Services. Ms Saranpaibool brings a wealth of experience and skill in the corporate sales and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) sectors to her new posting at The Peninsula Bangkok. A Thai national, also fluent in English, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Assumption University with a major in marketing.
  • Mr Pisarn Karnjanavanich

    Director of Engineering
    Mr Pisarn Karnjanavanich joined The Peninsula Bangkok as its Director of Engineering in July 2012. He is responsible for the hotel’s maintenance contracts and purchase of equipment, materials, tools, instruments and furniture as well as maintenance and repair of hotel equipment, tools and facilities. His role is to ensure smooth daily operation at the hotel.

    Mr Karnjanavanich brings more than 22 years of experience ranging from the construction field to operations and management. His professional experience includes Thai Obayashi, Thailand’s leading Construction Company, and Chatrium Hotels.

    He graduated with Master’s Degree in Engineering from Kasetsart University in Bangkok and obtained his professional electrical engineer license from the Council of Engineers of Thailand in 1997. He has attended a range of training courses including Construction Management at The Engineering Institution of Thailand, Boiler Control at the Technological Promotion Association (Thai-Japan) and Saving Energy in Large Air Conditioning Systems at the Bureau of Energy Regulation and Conservation.
