Corporate Executives


  • Clement King Man Kwok (Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur)
    Chief Executive Officer

    A Bachelor of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mr. Kwok joined the Group in February 2002 as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, and is a Director of most of the Group’s entities. His career began with Price Waterhouse and Barclays de Zoete Wedd in the United Kingdom, following which he returned to Hong Kong in 1986 to work with Schroders Asia. From 1996 to 2002, Mr. Kwok served as Finance Director of MTR Corporation.  He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Swire Pacific Limited, a Fellow of The Hong Kong Management Association, a Council Member of the World Travel & Tourism Council, and serves on the Board of the Faculty of Business and Economics of The University of Hong Kong.

  • Matthew Lawson
    Chief Financial Officer

    Appointed to the Board as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer in May 2016, Mr Lawson will be appointed as a Director of some of the Group’s entities. He holds a Bachelor of International Business Relations from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Queensland. Mr Lawson has also completed various post graduate studies in China, including at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies. Over the course of his career Mr Lawson has had extensive experience with hospitality and real estate transactions, investments and financing, including joint venture negotiations and structuring. He began his career with Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance in Sydney in 1998 and subsequently joined Deutsche Bank AG in Sydney in 2001 where he worked across Equity Capital Markets and Real Estate Investment Banking. Mr Lawson joined JPMorgan in Asia in 2006, where he held senior positions in Hong Kong and Singapore, most recently as Managing Director and Head of the Real Estate, Gaming and Lodging investment banking practice in Asia. He is 42 years old.

  • Peter Camille Borer
    Chief Operating Officer

    Appointed to the Board as an Executive Director in April 2004, he is a graduate of the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland and is now a member of the International Advisory Board of the school. Mr. Borer joined the Group in 1981. He was appointed General Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong in 1994, taking on additional regional responsibilities in 1999 and culminating in his appointment as Chief Operating Officer, The Peninsula Hotels, in April 2004. Mr. Borer is also a Director in most of the Group's entities.

  • Martyn Sawyer
    Group Director, Properties

    Group General Manager, Properties and Clubs since 1999, Mr. Sawyer holds regional responsibility for the Group’s non-hotel properties and operations including The Repulse Bay Complex and The Peak Complex in Hong Kong, as well as management of properties and clubs in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand. He has been with the Group since 1985.


  • Christobelle Liao
    Group Director, Corporate & Legal

    Ms. Liao is a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. After a number of years in legal practice, she joined the Group as Company Secretary and Corporate Counsel in 2002 and currently holds the position of Group Director.

  • Maria Razumich-Zec
    Regional Vice-President

    Mrs. Razumich-Zec joined the Group as General Manager of The Peninsula Chicago in 2002 and was promoted to the position of Regional Vice-President – USA East Coast in 2007, with regional responsibilities covering The Peninsula Hotels in Chicago and New York.

  • Rainy Chan
    Regional Vice-President

    Ms. Chan joined The Peninsula Hong Kong in 1994 and, after a series of internal promotions, was appointed General Manager of The Peninsula Bangkok from 2004 to 2007. In 2007 she was appointed General Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong, in addition to which she was promoted to the position of Area Vice-President – Hong Kong and Thailand in 2010.

  • Sindy Tsui
    Group Director, Human Resources

    Ms. Tsui was appointed General Manager, Human Resources in 2007. With many years of experience in human resources management in the hospitality industry, she is responsible for the Group’s strategy on human resources, talent development and training.


  • Shane Izaks
    Group General Manager, Information Technology

    Mr. Izaks was appointed General Manager, Information Technology in 1995 and is responsible for formulating and implementing information technology strategy at both Group and operational levels.

  • P.T. Wong
    Group General Manager, Projects

    Mr. Wong first joined the Group in 1996 but left in 2002. In 2006, he re-joined HSH and in 2008 was promoted to the position of General Manager, Project Coordination and Technical Services. In March 2011, he was appointed as General Manager, Projects Group, overseeing project management and design and planning functions.

  • Robert Cheng
    Vice-President, Marketing, The Peninsula Hotels

    Mr. Cheng is the Vice President, Marketing, in charge of branding, public relations, guest engagement and e-commerce for The Peninsula Hotels. Before taking up this position, he was the Director of Marketing at The Peninsula Shanghai. A graduate of Brown University in the United States and INSEAD in France, Mr. Cheng has held various positions in strategy, marketing and business development with luxury real estate and service companies, including American Express, where he was Director of the Centurion and Platinum card portfolios, and Candy & Candy (the London-based developers of the prestigious One Hyde Park residences). Before joining The Peninsula Shanghai, he was Global Director of Marketing for De Beers Diamond Jewellers in London, a joint venture between LVMH and the De Beers Group.

  • Simon Yip
    Vice-President, Sales, The Peninsula Hotels

    Mr. Yip joined The Peninsula Bangkok in 2001 as Director of Sales & Marketing and was posted to various HSH operations in subsequent years. In January 2012, he was appointed Vice President, Sales for The Peninsula Hotels, tasked with overseeing the hotels’ sales activities.


  • Lynne Mulholland
    Director, Corporate Affairs

    Ms. Lynne Mulholland joined the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH) as Director, Corporate Affairs in February 2014. 

    Ms. Mulholland holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Queen’s University Belfast and following her graduation in 1997, she worked as a journalist in Mexico, Panama and Azerbaijan before coming to Hong Kong in 2000 to work for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in its global communications team. Ms. Mulholland then went on to work in a strategic global public relations and communications role at Orient Overseas (International) Line Group and prior to joining HSH was part of the communications and marketing team at PCH International, a product development and supply chain company.
    Her primary functions at HSH include handling corporate public relations, issue management and investor relations for the Group.
