Festive Peninsula Academy: Chef Nojima's Gingerbread House Decorating Class
Every December, as part of its Christmas celebrations, The Peninsula unveils an enchanting gingerbread house that never fails to charm children and grown-ups alike. Last year’s stunning edible extravaganza featured some 400 cookie bricks, and the 2015 edition promises to be just as salivatingly showstopping.

However, this year, The Pen’s team of pastry pros are also letting a few lucky little elves have a go at making their own sugar-dusted designs, with a limited number of gingerbread house decorating classes.

Led by dessert doyen Chef Shigeru Nojima, kids will see how the experts construct and intricately adorn these delicious miniature dwellings, before unleashing their own creative juices on a baked blank canvas with colourful icing, chocolate and molding fondant. Once their confection creation is complete, it will be wrapped up and ready to take home.

Parents don’t have to miss out on the food festivities either, with a buffet served while the tots sharpen their kitchen skills. And, the final sweetener? Costs for the class will be donated to the Make-A-Wish® Foundation. Edible and charitable? You have to like the taste of that!
