March 30, 2018

Hey there petal! Fancy checking out some of Shanghai’s prettiest blooms? The annual Peach Blossom Festival is celebrated across the city’s parks in March and April, when the scent-sational fruit trees bloom with beautiful pink-hued buds. We rundown the top spots to check out this floral spectacular.

Gorgeous Gucun Park is something of a peach blossom staple for bloom seekers; it attracts thousands of visitors every year who flock to admire the seasonal foliage. Along with the many paths and trails, park-goers can also rent a boat to bob along the lakes and canals. Our tip? Take a picnic and make an afternoon of it.

Grab your beau and beeline to Gongqing Forest Park – Shanghai’s second largest green space is a luurverly spot for a romantic springtime stroll, especially as the peach blossom trees are best admired from one of the secluded streamside walkways. Wink wink!

The granddaddy of Shanghai’s green offerings, Pudong Century Park is a highlight for spring buds. With dedicated blossom tree gardens and ample space to while away an afternoon, this one gets top marks from us.

Petite Yangpu Park is a picturesque option tends to get less crowded, allowing you admire the blossoms at without the hordes. Alternatively, head to failsafe Shanghai Botanical Garden where the resident peach trees put on a bloomin’ marvellous show year after year, although it’s likely to be heaving with loved-up young couples, aww bless!
