Who, Where, When?

Shanghai Supperclub

Secret, exclusive, and ever changing – this culinary concept may be tried and tested in cities like New York and London, but Shanghai Supperclub is chartering relatively new territory in the burgeoning foodie land it calls home. The gist? A private dinner event is held in a different, undisclosed location each month with rotating guest list each time, the idea being to take a traditional dinner party and inject a little spice by way of themes, evolving menus, and, above all else, interesting people. Upon registering for the next supper you’ll be given instructions about where to go, what to wear, and who to bring – fun, right?

Previous dinner destinations have included B6 Basement Collective, Shanghai Graffiti Park, and Strictly Designers United’s showroom, with themes spanning preppy chic, Mexican fiesta, and festive seasonal feast – of course featuring the cuisine to match by the likes of local chefs such as Amelia Heaton-Renshaw. As for the menu itself, think Arnold Palmers and deviled eggs for the prepsters, chorizo de cerdo, fish tacos and ceviche a la fiesta, and totally trimmed roast beef, mince pies and homemade fudge for the holidays. They ask, “because who doesn’t love a dinner party?” We answer, “hear, hear!”
