Since the days of the Grand Tour, globetrotters have journeyed to the French capital and stood in awe before Napoleon's Arc de Triomphe, but for the modern movers and shakers the must-see site lies just a convenient stiletto’s toss from the boîte to be, L’Arc Paris. Named for its iconic neighbour, L’Arc became the choicest soirée for celebs and all-round stylish types when it was unveiled six years ago, only to go down in flames in a 2013 fire. Now, however, with the help of rocker-cum-covert interiorist Lenny Kravitz, the party palace has reopened with a marble-ous new gold-infused space of plush private booths and a chic vista-spangled terrace.
If queuing in the bone-chilling cold of winter is not your style, plump for a warming supper of haute Asian fusion at adjoining diner Victoria 1836, from where you can simply sashay straight down into the club, or else, kiss your concierge and get seriously glammed up to skip past the line of expectant wannabes. Once inside, bop your way to the cocktail counter for classic mixes, or sidle up to the original white stone bar and buy a bottle, which will win you a sought-after table in the elevated VIP section. Meanwhile, those that would rather see than be seen can pull up a pew out on the covered, heated patio and soak up the City if Light. Santé!
