Chanel Goes Pop!

January 26, 2017
Chanel Pop-Up
We love the ephemeral, creative charm of pop-ups and we adore the enduring appeal of Chanel, so put the two together in Paris and you’ve got yourself a must-shop.

The esteemed fashion house has orchestrated two stunning pop-up shops in a heritage C.17th building in Le Marais, the city’s boho-hip area that’s a chic destination for shops, galleries, drinking and dining.

A coat of arms and gargoyle heads above the entry gates welcome visitors. Once inside, though, less is definitely more, with the first building on the left showcasing the label’s RTW collections and accessories (from totes to shoulder bags and scarves), while the second more compact adjacent space, whimsically modelled on an artist's studio, is home to the drool-worthy shoe collection.
It’s a seductive statement about modern retail style with the two cutting-edge, heritage-industrial boutiques using linear planes of glass to enclose and celebrate the building’s distressed stone walls, as permanent modifications weren’t allowed. Ravishing worn-looking resin floors were crafted to resemble Corten steel. Black racks, mesh metal displays, wooden console tables and a leather recliner add graphic edge.

If your Instagram needs a top-up, pose by the outsize metal Chanel logo in the courtyard, backdropped by mirror and ancient columns. Like!

Until May, 2017.
