All Aboard!

The Water Table
It was a long time in the making, but almost a year after Rye and Dumont alum Kelli Farwell first embarked on her waterborne restaurant project, former WWII minesweeper The Revolution finally set sail on its maiden gastro voyage in December. Rechristened The Water Table, the beautiful old wooden boat departs from India Street Pier’s Greenpoint Terminal every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening for a two-hour round-trip jaunt, with guests seated at counters set under the vessel’s windows for a picture perfect view of the New York skyline.

The ship’s New England-inspired three-course menu comes courtesy of chef Drake Aldrich, and includes plates like mussel salad with roasted fennel and smoked paprika; corn chowder with applewood ham; and goat cheese pie with seasonal vegetables; followed up with simple fresh-baked butterscotch cookies and a traditional seafarer’s side of rum. The cocktail list is short and ship-shape, such as The Captain’s Widow, a mix of Bombay Sapphire, lavender bitters and tonic, and the selection of craft ales has been sourced in New England. The Water Table is set to return this March with a new spring menu, but don’t hang about, these exclusive perches are filling up fast. All aboard!
