Quality Italian Steakhouse
Ok, let’s get one thing straight. This is not the place for a first date. Seriously, if candlelight and the whisper of sweet nothings are on your mind, you’ll literally be blown away by the buzz and decibel level at chic grill Quality Meats’ sister establishment Quality Italian Steakhouse. With four dining rooms conceptualised by renowned design-firm AvroKO channelling the butcher’s guild flags of early C.20th NYC (here re-visioned into cabinetry and fittings), this spacious, two-storey corner property in midtown Manhattan fair thrums with famished diners eager for its signature huge protein slabs, perfect sides and popular bar.
So, what to order? Three words – corn creme brulee. Whatever you choose for a main, order a side of corn creme brulee, it’s pointless trying to calorie count, so just surrender. With a range of homemade pastas and appetisers like grilled octopus saltimbocca, it’s wise to leave plenty of space for the mains like lemon-charred chicken and Berkshire pork chop, and of course the steaks, served rare. From balsamic ‘lacquered’ filet with crispy bone marrow, to ribeye and sirloin, match your protein with carbs like parmesan waffle fries, creamed kale carbonara or tuscan roasted potatoes. Before the ambulance is called you may just have room for the house lemon meringue tart with strawberry and basil sorbet, but either way there’s little hope of leaving hungry. Quality counts!
