Get Fit-Kitted After Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving has come and gone – phew! But before you set about working off that turkey wobble, you’ll need to get kitted with the best gear. And with athleisure-wear now competing in the style stakes, picking the right apparel is more important than ever...
All-American designer Tory Burch’s NY flagship for her new active offshoot Tory Sport is a fab place to start. A modern take on iconic Seventies style, the collection reimagines classic looks in high-performance fabrics, fresh colours, graphic prints and timeless silhouettes. Catering to studio, swim and ski bunnies via running, tennis and golf, the Flatiron store is all retro-chic Scandi meets surf lodge.
Diamond Quilted Racer jackets, Miami Print leggings, and Create Your Karma crop tanks… Multi-brand US retailer Bandier sells fashion-forward activewear labels for ladies, including Australia’s The Upside, NYC’s Phat Buddha, and LA-based Alo and Spiritual Gangster. Store exclusives include a rose-gold range with Nike. It also boasts a pumping fitness studio with a full roster of heart-pounding classes.
NoHo’s Lululemon Lab stocks only limited edition lycra pieces – nothing like any of Lululemon’s dozen or so stores across Manhattan. Custom designed to suit city living in this active community, and made locally, this is the Canadian brand’s second Lab outlet. Graphic offerings for guys include sling tees, flex pants and tech vests, taking you from bike to bar. Vive hoodies, swing coats and strap leggings are equally functional and flexible for girls. Work it, baby!
